When I purchased my home it had updated electrical services but the old knob and tube remained in places throughout my home. I replaced those circuits myself but have been having a issue with one circuit which I didnt personally rerun. This tool identified the problem that I have been struggling with. Very satisfied with it. In less than 24 hours I was able to identify and repair a problem Ive been at odds with on and off for more than a year.

Effective, easy to read, LCD is a nice touch. Be aware that its oversized; you wont be able to test one outlet with anything plugged into the other. Very quick delivery.

I have no idea as to accuracy. It’s easy to use, just plug it in. All it shows is voltage. Instructions are incomplete, and only tell what it’s supposed to do; not HOW OR WHY. The instructions should include complete operating information, and why!

Great value, I recommend it. Works like all the other North American outlet testers but includes a GFCI tester (just push the button and it simulates a ground fault, tripping the GFCI unit) *and* it includes an LCD Volt meter. We have both grid power and solar power and I like to know what the voltage is - this makes it easy, just plug in the tester. Beats dragging out the Fluke multi-meter and sticking probes into the outlet.

It seems that all plug-in testers have a MAJOR FLAW & this one is no different. In a case of reverse polarity, if the ground wire of the device is jumpered off of the neutral terminal (which, by the way, under no circumstances should this be done). THIS TESTER, JUST LIKE EVERY ONE OF THE 50 PLUS TESTERS THAT I HAVE USED IN THE LAST 40 YEARS, IT WILL SHOW AS :correct wiring. Testers need to determine the line wire, no matter which lug it is tied to. I give this one 3 stars because it does show the voltage which gives it the 2nd star & when I intentionally wired an outlet to 240 volt with a ground, all 3 lights lit, showing 245 volts present, which gives it a 3rd star. BAD THING IS, WHEN I REMOVED THE GROUND, IT ONLY SHOWED open ground, BUT IT STILL READ 245 VOLTS, still deserves 3 stars. ALL OTHER TESTERS THAT I HAVE REVIEWED, ONLY GOT 1 STAR, BECAUSE I COULD NOT GIVE THEM A ZERO STAR. The bulky size may prevent you from using in some situations, but thats not worth dinging it. Overall, this is the best plug-in tester that I have purchased.
