I didnt have high expectations for this product based on price, but the reviews were very good, so I figured I would try it. Only intended to use it to remove hard to reach paint and rust removal. It doesnt seem to work at all, takes some of the shine off of paint but doesnt seem to remove it at all. Not even sure if its worth buying different media to try. Directions are very minimal and have no troubleshooting, Ive read and reread them multiple times hoping I was just doing something wrong.

First off; I have never used a sand blaster before. I bought this to clean carbon and stains off the exterior of aluminum small engine cylinders. I bought a box of #10 (very fine) glass beads to try with this blaster. I have a 25 gallon compressor and it had no problem supplying enough air for this small task. I must say, this blaster and the #10 glass beads worked excellent. It didnt damage the cylinder, but cleaned it very quickly to like-new condition. And I only used about 1/2 of the hopper to do 1 cylinder. The blaster itself was easy to assemble. The regulator attached with no issues, and I attached a standard air fitting using some teflon tape to the regulator - also with no issues. I found I only needed to turn the hopper valve on half way to supply enough blast media to do the job. I also found that the fine glass beads with drain out of the hopper just by gravity if the hopper valve is fully opened. As for PPE - I wore an N95 mask, safety glasses and a full face shield. That seemed to be adequate for the job I was doing. I did the blasting in the front lawn as I didnt want that fine blast media anywhere near the house. I used so little that there was no trace of it on the lawn when I was finished. For my purposes, this blaster gun is excellent and I highly recommend it for occasional cleaning of small parts.

Although it does not look like much more than a toy and likely won’t take much in the way of rough handling but it certainly does a GREAT job of removing paint and rust. Bought it for some tight spots on a motorcycle frame and was done with the whole thing in short order.

I used it for the first time today. I used Home Depot builders sand and it worked fine.

Unlike most of this type sand blaster, you can get replacement tips for it. I bought a pack of two. I haven’t had the opportunity do use one of the Replacement tips yet because after 150 pounds of sand it is still going strong with the first nozzle. I’ve only used medium and fine grit and I haven’t had any clogging issues :-). All in all a pretty good detail sander to get those smaller spots or get into the really tight areas on a bigger job. I’ve also used it in restoring a couple old tools that were rusted solid. That worked very well. Restoration efforts may be the best niche for this kind of sand blaster.

Worthless. The tip locking nut doesnt lock up at all. Its just a round nut with no flange. Guess its too late to return it now.

I usually dont need a sandblaster often, which is why I sold my 5hp compressor & pressure-pot sandblaster, All I needed was a little hand-held unit, so I picked one up at Harbor Freight for less than 20 bucks, and it served me well for 4 years, until a couple weeks ago. HF had nothing in their store, or online, and I really needed a replacement. I saw this little unit, which was available immediately, and even though this was a few bucks more, after shipping, tax... this beauty was only a couple bucks difference. This handheld unit looked a little tall for the cabinet I got from Tractor Supply, but after connecting the airline (I used this little blaster inside their benchtop cabinet), when I squeezed the trigger on this hand-blaster, it also blew my mind. If youre looking for a small handheld blaster, when you get to this one, your search should be over. Incredible blasting area, MUCH more room in this hopper than in the Harbor Freight unit, and even though the controls (knobs, valve closure, and a trigger that looks like it should be on a plastic toy walkie-talkie, everthing works at least as well as much higher priced units.
