Greater than one weekit’s just okay, NOT wind proof, unless your “wind” is a light breeze. bought for downtown manhattan rains and winters and it can’t even handle brooklyn’s let alone that whipping wind. a let down for sure.

Greater than one weekGreat umbrella. Nothing complicated. It is a good size for 2 people to stand under and handled a heavy rain storm. Unsure of how it handles wind as we havent used it in windy conditions just yet but its a simple umbrella

> 3 dayIve had several mini umbrellas over my life. Most of them are all toast now due to strong winds. That aint happening with this one. Its built to take on the wind and rain and leave you dry or as dry as you can be in strong wind and rain. It is just a little over 12 closed while it opens up to a roomy 40 canopy and as others have suggested, its heavier than most this size. It only weighs in at 1 pound with the cover and I dont really consider that heavy, just a better build with better parts. It opens up fast with a press of the button and has another neat trick... once its open and you want to close it, just press the button again and the top collapses down so all you have to do is press it back into the handle. Pretty neat! The heart of this thing are the springs in the ribs. Thats what opens it, closes it and keeps strong winds from turning it inside out. You can see them in the photos. You can also see in one pic where I was trying to replicate what would happen in a strong wind by flexing it with my hand. I wasnt taking it easy on it either. The springs brought it right back. You can see how well it sheds water where I poured water over it and just how little water was left behind. The water proof coating seems to work better than all my previous umbrellas and allows it to dry out quicker too. With a three year warranty, I dont see how you can go wrong with this. Its half the price I have paid for other Totes umbrellas and the build on this is so much better. Its coming with me from now on!

> 3 dayI was pleasantly surprised with this umbrella; not often do you see a product with so few faults. Ten ribs make a difference, as my bag and I were completely dry even though it was pouring all day. Its also sturdy enough to handle ten mph winds without risk of folding or breaking. Two buttons are responsible for closing and opening the umbrella. The springs are faster than I expected, possibly the fastest Ive ever seen in an umbrella. After closing, it returns to a compact size and has a sleeve for securing. The only nitpick I have is that one of the promotional pictures shows a couple and their child all fitting under the umbrella, but I cant see how all three would fit. At most, it could fit two regular-sized adults shoulder to shoulder. Other than that, this umbrella is worth every penny.

> 3 dayBefore writing this review, I waited until I had a chance to use this umbrella at least twice. I needed a new travel umbrella since my previous one disappeared into the bowels of my teenagers room. The thing that caught my eye about this one is that it is slightly larger than my last one and is supposed to be windproof, one area my previous one was weak on. So far in testing, it has held up to the wind. Not quite a squall, but a few solid gusts. IT didnt even flinch. It dried quickly and operates smoothly. Everything you usually need in a compact travel umbrella. One thing you should be aware of (as others have mentioned) is that it is heavier than other compact umbrellas I have owned. Im going to guess this is due to the reinforced ribs. Personally, I would rather have it be a bit heavier and able to withstand strong winds than be lighter. But its something to be aware of if weight is a priority for you.

> 3 dayBuy yourself a golf size umbrella you won’t regret it. This umbrella too complicated and too small barely covers your head and shoulders.
