My husband and I have previously owned several other 7000 model TENS machines of this brand, both of which still work, but are about 12 years old now and are getting a bit worn out, so we decided to purchase a new one. This new edition of model 7000 is essentially the same in the way it looks externally and how it functions as the older version, so if you are replacing a worn-out 7000 model, this upgraded version will not confuse you with unnecessary changes in its interface. What is different is that the manufacturer has added some helpful new options for settings, the most significant to me, and the only one that Ive opted to try out so far, is that if you choose to go to sleep using this TENS unit, it will turn itself off after about an hour, which the previous model did not do. This is an excellent feature because it spares the battery, which saves the user money because 9-volt batteries are not cheap. This device comes with a set of leads and 4 electrodes as a complete starter kit. The electrodes lasted me a total usage time of about 6 to 7 hours before they wore out. That is not in my experience a terrific amount of time for TENS electrodes to last. Ive had other brands of electrodes that fit both this model and my older model of this TENS machine which have lasted a total of about 9 or 10 hours. Note that if you use this machine at all frequently, you will want to immediately order some more electrodes so you wont run out. The 4 electrodes included in this kit is not a lot. The basic principle of how this TENS machine functions, via mild electrical stimulation of muscles, is no different from any other TENS machine. This is good news because this particular brand is quite reasonably priced at the lower end of the scale of cost for TENS machines. All TENS machines are extremely helpful for relieving muscle pain. And for people who suffer from fibromyalgia, in particular, this home therapy is far more effective and a lot safer than taking dangerous prescription drugs with terrible side effects, such as Lyrica. As another example of utilizing this TENS machine rather than relying on dangerous prescription pain drugs, I recently have endured an excruciating bout of shingles, and this TENS unit has been a lifesaver in helping me to bear the terrible pain. It doesnt so much as directly turn off the burning, electric-shock, neuropathic pain that is such a devastating feature of shingles, and which anti-inflammatory OTC medications and prescription opioids are ineffective at controlling. Instead, in my experience, it works to distract the brain from experiencing the neuropathic pain of shingles either entirely, or mutes the pain to a bearable level. As such, it can simultaneously act not only as a form of temporary pain relief, but functions as a crucial tool to help prevent the development of postherpetic neuralgia. Note that TENS should be an adjunct treatment, and not a replacement for the antiviral, prescription drug prescribed for shingles which, to be effective, must be taken within 72 hours of the outbreak of the first set of blisters from the shingles rash. Sadly, statistically, this drug has only a 50-50 chance of mitigating a shingles attack, preventing a future attack, and preventing postherpetic neuralgia. When it comes to preventing the terrible curse of postherpetic neuralgia, its important, therefore, to have as many options as possible on the table. This TENS option is so inexpensive, and so completely safe, that one essentially has nothing to lose by using it as an adjunct to taking the antiviral medication. Doctors who specialize in the treatment of chronic pain have indicated that a main reason for the development of chronic pain, after the original cause of the pain has been healed in the body, is that dysfunctional neural pathways have become established when pain lasts longer than 8 to 12 weeks after the original cause of the pain has been healed. This is the point at which doctors will change the diagnosis of the pain from acute to chronic. Utilizing a TENS unit can help prevent those dysfunctional pathways from becoming entrenched. And if one already has long-established chronic pain, using a TENS unit can be a way to help retrain those dysfunctional pathways. I also believe that, given that using a TENS unit like this one is helpful for the nerve pain of shingles, which is a disease caused by the chicken pox virus which damages nerves, that TENS might also potentially be an excellent, inexpensive and convenient home remedy for the mitigation and potential outright healing of other types of chronic, neuropathic pain as well, if the pain is the type that is post-trauma, rather than pain from ongoing, uncontrolled disease. But even in the case of the latter, a TENS unit can be an excellent adjunct therapy when dangerous prescription drugs are doing an ineffective job at alleviating the devastating suffering caused by neuropathic pain.

I initially bought this product to help my husband with some deep tissue neck/shoulder pain. He did not like it, it did not help. But when my teenage son and nephews got a hold of it they had a blast... so I guess its a win.

I was iffy about purchasing after scrolling through many options. I have been using it for three weeks now, and it works great. I have not replaced the battiers so far. I highly recommend it.

This is amazing for helping relieve back and neck pain. It was great on Menasha cramps. Its tiny and might not be fancy but it works great!

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last year. With the medications I have taken for the symptoms the worst of the pain and stiffness has been mostly absent until about a week ago. Last week I woke up with a very stiff back, shoulders, neck, bottom, and hips that was unrelated to any exercise or injury. Increasing my medications helped lessen the pain and stiffness (muscle relaxer) but it was a very difficult week. My sleeping was also very bad and my fitness tracking watch recorded very poor or even worse sleep for the whole week. Anyways I did some research for ways to help this and found that TENS could help with my symptoms. I purchased this device and received it yesterday. Since then I have used it 5 to 7 times for 20 to 25 minutes on different areas of my back. I use it between level 3 and level 4 with normal mode and default settings but adjusted the time to 20 to 25 minutes. On every place I used it the pain and stiffness is either reduced by a large extent or totally eliminated. The medications I take dont do that. They only provide a temporarily reduction in pain and stiffness. I am very impressed in how well this works. My only negative is the case on my TENS7000 does not have the plastic part that is supposed to latch so the case does not lock closed in the closed position. This appears to be a defect in the manufacturing of my case. Its not a terrible thing but at the moment I kept the plastic outer bag to make sure the items dont fall out of the case. I would normally subtract 1 from my rating for such a problem but the device works so well I can give this a pass..

Less then 2 years ago, I bought a tenz unit that was chargeable, but no it sat unused for a bit and then would not work. This one takes a 9v battery which I can replace when needed. The only negative, the battery that they provide lasted only 40 minutes before I had to replace it. Personally, I’d rather no battery was included, then to have to throw this in the dump after only 40 minutes.

I had a pinched nerve in my back from bench pressing. It was bothering me while sleeping and throughout the day. I got professional massages, used deep tissue massage guns, tried sleeping different ways, icy hot pads, and absolutely nothing worked. I was about to call a doctor to schedule some physical therapy until my friend recommended this product. As soon as I tried it I knew this was exactly what I needed. About three weeks of using this my back is feeling much better. This is a must have for people living an active lifestyle.

The Tens 7000 has been a lifesaver for my chronic muscle strains. I lift quite a bit and have suffered some rhomboid issues. This device kicks ass! My wife also uses it for a hip flexor issue. She says its been quite effective. The chiropractor has been gouging us for years using basically the same device. Very pleased with this little power house. Its also super simple to use

I had the earlier model, TENS 3000, which was excellent, so I didnt hesitate to buy this. I just want a basic TENS unit, not 1,500 different modalities and acrobatics for the machine to do -- just good old, basic TENS. This unit is super simple to operate....easy to understand, easy to use, easy to control, easy to pack back up when done. I use it while reading, watching TV etc. Its easy-on, easy-off. Depending on how experienced you are in determining exactly where you electrode pads need to be, the machine does the rest and the controls are simple. I looked at a lot of others before buying this, thinking maybe I needed nouveau features. I dont. I use a TENS for basic pain relief and thats what this delivers. It may not be super razzle-dazzle -- but I like simplicity and I like to get what I WANT in a product. And I did.
