> 24 hourI started a new tradition in our house. My two (step) kiddos can be wildly disrespectful and out of control- sometimes. I thought Elf on the shelf would be cute considering the kids last name is Elf. The first day was a hit, it was one of those you had to be there moments. And so far its been pretty fun, especially since I have the story of Krampus working on my side. But Im really put off by the quality and the price. Why dont they just include the Elf with appendages that pose the elf? Its flimsy. We were lucky that I was good with a needle and able to stitch and un stitch her without any damage done. And why is it almost 10 dollars more for a dark skin doll!? What is that!? The kids have very light skin, whereas myself and my family are all darker of skin so I thought it important that they see different shades in dolls but seriously! 10 dollars more for darker skin pigment! I didnt notice until after I had purchased her. Either way its cute and the kids like her but Im not thrilled

If you want your child to identify with the elf that looks like them or the people around them you have to spend more money which is insane. I did like it that my daughter woke up every day excited to see what SodaPop the elf had done.
