Big regret that I ever dropped so much money on this lie of a backpack. I trusted the North Face name and all the positive reviews, but honestly, other than the durability of this backpack, it’s the worst backpack I’ve ever had. Let’s start with the “flexible straps.” All straps need is cushion and bam, they will be comfortable and fit to your shoulders. But these have some bizarre, incredibly thick, weirdly molded cardboard that twists in such a way that it digs straight into my collarbone and shoulders and is incredibly painful and has left welts. It has little to no padding at all. I mean, those dinky little straps on fashion backpacks are more comfortable than these. It’s unbelievable how awful the straps are. I can’t emphasize this enough. Let me reiterate: NO padding with thick, twisted cardboard insert. Wtf? And unfortunately, this same insert is in the back of the backpack, which “would” rest against your back, but since it’s also thick and twisted here, it instead bends the backpack in such a way that there is a a gaping space. So the backpack will rest against the top of your neck, bend outwards, and then jut into your tailbone because of the extreme twist and angle. I attached a picture to better show this. It reduces the amount of items you can put in the backpack, looks frankly ridiculous, and ensures that your backpack will never stand up straight but instead falls over immediately whenever you set it down. Not “flexible” or “padded” at all like the description. Again, there’s no padding here, or anywhere actually. If you pull out the strings to put more items in the front two pockets, it just exacerbates the problem. And as for the back pocket, the ONLY thing you can fit in there is an extremely slim laptop. All claims and descriptions of this backpack by the seller/brand are just a total lie, and I could not be more disappointed that I can’t return this piece of garbage. I’ve been using it in the hopes that this bizarre cardboard stuff could like, be broken in? But it doesn’t. I hate it as much today as I did the first day despite regular use. TLDR; you’re better off with a Jansport.

Has held up really well over the last 4 months. Fits enough stuff for a high schooler. If you had to carry multiple textbooks u may want a bigger one.

I would rate this 5 stars if it wasn’t so expensive! I’m sure the durability makes it worth the price, but I still can’t believe I spent that much for a bag. My daughter loves it though! And they do last!

This is such a great backpack for anyone in school or if you need a lot of space for things to carry. There are so many pockets and so much space. It will definitely last a VERY long time. I highly recommend this backpack.

I used this backpack for my first year on college and although it was sturdy, the front two pockets were super shallow. This caused the backpack to distribute most of its weight at the top of my back when I didnt have the main pockets full, which always felt like I was being pulled back. It hurt my back to wear the bag with only a water bottle, computer, notebook, and other random assorted stuff like pens in it. I could alleviate some pain with the front strap but not much. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 because its a cute color (I got the Laurel Wreath Green/Silver Blue color) and it did fit a ton of stuff which was great for weekend trips. However, its not worth the back pain as I walked around campus though :/

I wanted to love this backpack. It holds all of my stuff for whatever activity I have planned for the day and keeps it all organized. It fits under an airplane seat. It is well ventilated and doesnt make your back all swampy. It distributes the weight well for the most part. But the straps are AWFUL! They are very stiff and the way they are contoured makes them rub horribly on my shoulders. The straps leave bruises that last weeks after a day hike. Customer service at TNF pretty much told me it sucks for me and theres nothing that they can do unless the backpack falls apart. I dont even want to use this expensive pack anymore because it bruises so bad.
