Great book for a beginner

This is a fine book, informative, thorough, well illustrated. I have only one complaint about it, and that is that the old-fashioned way of hooking rugs is not included, ie, the so-called primitive method, done using a shuttle hook and thin strips of wool (usually from thrift shop clothing). There is no discussion of this fine old method, and I would have liked to have that included. Otherwise, an excellent book, great for ideas.
