I first saw this movie years after it was released on Netflix and had me crying. Im not much of a crier but the meaning of the movie is what many of us struggle with, finding and knowing God and finding Him again. We all have our losses and this movie helped me not only to heal after losing my mom but also to find God again. This is a must watch and must have.

I was amazed at how this movie made me reflect on my own life. It addresses the realness of God, the son & the holy ghost. It addresses forgiveness and makes you look at how important it is. I cried all the way thru this movie. Have tissues ready.

I was leery of watching this because Ive heard mixed reviews on this movie. So I asked for discernment and asked God to show me anything I might learn from this movie and help me not to be deceived in any ways from this film. In the first 15 minutes or so it didt feel quite right. But I stepped back from the literal interpretation of it, and seeing the bigger picture I can see it as a good way to explain Gods love for all of us. It didnt delve into evil really at all, which makes it a bit incomplete to me. One main message of this movie was that bad things are allowed because of Gods mercy and love for each of us, even those who do wrong or bad things. While that is truth, it is not the complete picture. Perhaps that aspect was left out because many or most Christians really dont take spiritual warfare seriously. Since we battle not with flesh and blood but against spirits and principalities (Ephesians 6:12), including that may have made it a truer picture. I didnt really think it was necessary to make God a female in the role, I think a male could have gotten the same message across. But that part really wasnt important, it was seeing the attributes of God that was the message, that He is loving and with us always. I am glad they included the message about forgiving others

Its hard to find fault with a film that is so amazingly well-intentioned. THE SHACK is one of the most beautifully photographed films I have ever seen. The rich scenery and vibrant colors will send a burst of energy to your brain. Also, imagine the hope for the world if lovely and talented Octavia Spencer were God! THE SHACK is a story that tries to explain the unexplainable. Why do bad things happen to good people and why does God not intervene to stop the evil in the world? Sam Worthington stars as Mack Phillips. Hes happily married to a gorgeous and loving wife and has three perfect children. He has a childhood secret that haunts him but life as an adult is perfect until an unimaginable tragedy occurs to rock his world. Its here that the story sometimes veers off the believability path. God invites Mack to a secluded house in the mountains. God is in the form of Octavia Spencer and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are there for good measure. The Holy Trinity cook meals, do dishes and all sorts of domestic chores as they try to revive Macks faith in God and mankind. Its a lovely attempt to give one man hope through his despair but its hard to imagine why God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit reveal themselves to Mack. Yes, God is busy even when she (Octavia) seems to be relaxing. There must be billions of people to help at any given time. THE SHACK does go over the top at times and is a bit long. There is a blend of Scripture and stories from the Bible. Jesus does walk on water which adds some gentle humor. THE SHACK is a sweet movie that will inspire some and confuse others. Its amazingly beautiful to look at. Its a pleasant diversion from the average film but it may leave people with questions than answers.

I loved the story about Mack’s loss and how God taught and showed him the power of forgiveness and the difference it will make in all of our lives. It’s a wonderful book!!

I just have to say ⚠️**TRIGGER WARNING** ⚠️ ⚠️ Kidnapping ⚠️ Child death⚠️ As a father and his three children are on a camping trip, his family experiences a near drowning, when after he rescues one of his children, he is relieved to see that child is going to be okay. However, one of his children come up missing. (Kidnapped & SA & murdered). Filled with grief and anger and un forgiveness, family growing apart, he has lost his faith until receives a mysterious letter with no return address, asking him to return to where it all began. Filled with suspense, heartbreaking moments, laughter moments, this is one movie you must see. Though it isn’t 100% biblically accurate, this movie serves its purpose on topics of God, Jesus, family, forgiveness, letting go and allowing God to take charge, loss, grief, faith, loss of faith and regaining it. The Shack stirred up things in me I kept or tried to keep buried deep within myself for years but also showed me exactly where I was lacking and reminded me that everyone deserves forgiveness, not just for the one that has done me wrong but more importantly, myself. This movie is in my opinion appropriate for all ages 12 yrs and up. Staring Tim McGraw

We need more positives in our lives and less negativity, this is a perfect example of that.
