Greater than one weekCorrected a warp that caused uneven cooling. Works great to properly secure the processor and allow for proper mounting of a cooling solution. Made from aluminum not plastic. Remains straight under pressure.

> 3 dayLook I realize Thermal Grizzly basically thought of these as a solution for the 1700 socket bend but they’re super expensive and hard to find in the States. And yes, there are even some builders that believe these contact frames are just a trend and are nothing more than a security blanket for a nonissue. And in same cases that’s absolutely true. Some CPUs IHS are perfectly fine with the socket bend I had 4 that were completely fine with or without the contact frame. But after 15 builds with extreme socket bend making for poor contact with heatsinks I can say this helps more often than not. This contact frame has lowered temps by upwards of 8C on my builds and yes I tested each one. So yes, in my professional opinion Intel created a problem, never addressed it and these are the best solution, especially for anything Core i7 and up. The fact that Thermal Right created these at such a reasonable price and are indeed just as effective as Thermal Grizzly’s (check Gamers Nexus) seems too good to be true, but as I’ve said I’ve used these on 15 builds and they’re worth every penny.

05-04-2025Literally dropped temps by 20c just by adding this to my i5 12600k.

> 3 dayDropped an average of 15C after I replaced the stock CPU bracket on my Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX. This fit very snug and secure on the 13th Gen i9 and I couldnt be happier!

> 3 dayThis is my first build in 4.5 years, so this time around I wanted to do tons of research. Im installing a CPU water cooler for the first time ever and researching that a fair amount led me to these CPU brackets. Ive never been satisfied with the cheezy, light weight CPU brackets/fasteners which come standad on MBs. This seemed like a valuable asset for just $14. Im running a 13th Gen Intel on an MSI Z690 ACE MB. As you can see from the pic, the fit looks very clean and the aluminum bracket is well machined. I do not know if temps will be lowered vs the stock guillotine bracket but it sure holds the Intel in place far better. And that can only be good.

> 3 dayI tried this modification because I didnt like how much torque was being applied to my CPU when using the stock fastener. I am not sure if it was actually bending the chip but it was under too much pressure in my opinion. Temps improved slightly. Easy to remove original and install and looks cleaner than original silver clamp. Comes with tool to remove and reinstall screws.

> 3 dayThis product didnt reduce the temps too much, maybe 5C at full load. However, I got this product for the longevity of the CPU health. This way I can guarantee CPU bend doesnt happen over time.

> 3 dayWell worth it.

> 3 dayIf you have a 12th or 13th gen processor, this is a must have. I installed this frame on two different computers and it dropped temps by at least 8 degrees on each. Install is super easy if you follow the steps in the Gamers Nexus youtube video.

> 3 daydecided to rebuild my computer using a i7-12700k and from what i read and what all my builder friends told me, having this retainer is a must for the long term, as it helps mitigate temperature spikes and evens out the CPU to Cooler contact, allowing for an even heat distribution. Now, I’m not super computer savvy and I’ve only built 3 computers in my lifetime, but if I can install this easily, than anyone can.
