This THULE backpack delivers incredible quality, most notably the laptop area and the crush proof compartment. Lots of very well thought out features. The more you use it the more you discover. Once you have a THULE backpack it is hard to imagine living without one.

The bag has nice features however, the bag was way too structured and heavy. If youre a high school or college student, would not recommend.

I was so done with my last bag that I didnt care how much I had to pay to get rid of it. Im very hard on a bag and carry 2 laptops by default so I wanted something that could deal. Well its been 2 months and I can say that this is easily the best bag ive ever had. Ive spent more a few times and gotten far less. Just do yourself a favor and find one at a store near you to try it before you buy. Im a 6 3 muscular guy with a broad back and its a little tight on me. But the utility and durability more than make up for it. 10/10. Would Thule again.

Love that the bag stands up, is sturdy, has high-quality materials (love these zippers), smart colors and textures (love the blue highlights and interior), and is thoughtfully designed. Things I would change? Just two things. 1/ I wish it were about 1lb lighter when empty. 2/ I want one small, flexible pocket for quickly dropping things into while on the move (e.g., keys, receipts, business cards)

Thule makes some truly epic gear, whether outdoor peripherals for your car, hiking packs and yes, regular backpacks too. Both my wife and I own Thule hiking backpacks that weve used for years without a problem and love the brand. After spending the last two weeks using the Thule Crossover Laptop Backpack I can safely conclude this is another excellent product from the brand. So a bit more about how I tested this backpack - I use a backpack daily to commute to/from work and Ive done so for over 10-years. Ive tried other types of bags - satchels/shoulder bags and traditional laptop cases, but nothing really has the all-around portability and practicality of a backpack, so thats what I use even well into my 30s. ► How I Use the Crossover: The Thule Crossover pretty much has it all whether youre a student porting your laptop, books, and gear or a worker like I am that throws everything in one bag. For me, that includes items like my 13 laptop, usually a notebook (or two), a 1 3-ring binder, a few pens, mechanical pencil, building access badge, cables and charging adapters, and typically my lunch. You get the idea - a lot of stuff. The Crossover has room for it all without looking like youre a Sherpa on the way to summit. ► Overall Thoughts After Two-Weeks: The most surprising aspect of this backpack is the rigidity of it. Most backpacks Im accustomed to (the non-hiking variety anyway) are generally relatively soft and well, not rigid. The Crossover, on the other hand, has quite a bit of rigidity and in my pictures, for example, is mostly empty but stands up easily on its own. Most certainly the rigidity is on purpose and thanks to the extra protection in specialized compartments - the safe zone - that are designed to keep your expensive gadgets and accessories safe. The front pocket, with the safe zone tag, for example, is quite rigid and perfect for storing items like sunglasses. The laptop pouch which is the furthest back and close to the shoulder straps is incredibly well padded and also has a semi-rigid backing in addition to the usual padding. Id describe this as the perfect traveling/commuting backpack because I wouldnt hesitate to place this backpack under an airline seat or in overhead storage, even with fragile electronics inside, thanks to the padding and overall rigidity. That said, there is one trade-off and that is the overall comfort of the backpack. Even after two weeks of daily use, I can still notice the Crossover is on my back if that makes sense. With my old backpacks, they sort of went unnoticed and Im hoping that as I adjust to the different feel of the Crossover it sort of just becomes the new norm. ► Thoughts on Quality & Style: I have the Crossover in the black finish and it looks great! The small white dots all over the backpack really look better in person than in the product pictures and give the backpack a cool, textured look. The inner compartments are lined in a beautiful blue color making it easy to find dark colored peripherals and is a nice contrast to the outer color. Quality-wise the Crossover has the same quality Ive come to expect from Thule. The bag arrived in perfect condition without an errant string or thread. Zippers feel heavy-duty without looking like it. The backpack just sort of exudes a sense of durability and quality. ► Closing: Prior to purchasing my Thule outdoor hiking backpack, my wife questioned my choice simply because she felt the price was excessive. However, after taking the backpack halfway around the world - multiple times, and on various outdoor adventures, shes come around. Buy quality, buy once. Thats how Id describe this backpack - one that Ill be able to use for many years to come. If youre looking for a top-notch backpack, youve found it. Recommended!

This is seriously the nicest backpack Ive ever used. The shoulder straps are really thick and padded, while the body of the bag is so sturdy that it actually maintains its shape without anything inside. The rigid body makes it really easy to load and unload. Despite the heavy duty construction and padding, the backpack doesnt actually feel much heavier than my other laptop bags. I use it to store and transport a Macbook Pro 15 with a Cintiq 13HD along with all of the cords and cables needed for this setup. Theres more than enough room for a laptop, tablet, notebook, and cables. The safe zone in the front has a hard lining to protect more delicate items like glasses.

This backpack replaces a Tumi messenger bag that Ive been using for many years. The Thule is an upgrade in every possible way. First, I love Thules stuff. Ive used their bike racks and other outdoor products for many years. We even have a nice Thule stroller that we love. So I didnt hesitate to try out this backpack. I like that it offers all of the form and more function than my old Tumi, without the vague whiff of overbranding on something bought from the local mall. Second, the construction on this bag is top notch. When I opened it there wasnt a single stray stitch to be found or a single seam that doesnt appear to be heavily reinforced. The cordura outer fabric feels properly heavy duty and--given my experience with the material--I fully expect that it will last for many, many years of daily use while showing little to no wear. The zippers seem to be overbuilt YKK units that are sewn into the bag very well. Additional features such as the built-in rubber rails, make it clear that this is a well engineered bag. Third, this bag is perfectly organized and presentable as my main business case. Im a professional who travels back and forth to an office daily and for business on regular air and rail trips. The basic black finish is all-business and gives me all of the good function of carrying my Osprey day pack without the loud outdoorsy aesthetics. The bag has great structure and never looks floppy and deflated like so many other backpacks. The bag is also perfectly organized for business. Sure it holds a laptop, notebooks, pens and etc. with great organization and padding. But lots of bags do that. What really stands out to me is the rigid upper compartment for my sunglasses. Its such a clever use of the space and I dont think I could go back to just hoping my glasses survive floating around the bottom of a backpack in a flimsy glasses case. Lots of other options are clearly just as well thought out. For example, the abilty to attach the bag to a rolling suitcase handle is missing on far too many businesses cases and almost every travel backpack Ive tried. One word of caution. The straps come out of the package very stiff. They break in quite well, but you have to give it a bit of time. Before that they sit kind of funny on your shoulders. Power through it for a bit and youll have a great bag that should serve you well for many years.
