Thule Subterra Backpack 34L

I picked this up in the Mineral color, which looks dark blue. Here are some of the PROS and CONS of this backpack as I see them. You can decide if any are important to you. PROS Good size for 2-3 day trip (more if you pack light) Bright orange interior makes it easy to see/find items in your pack Lots of well-placed pockets for organizing your stuff The rolltop opening gives you total access to the bags interior Comes with padded packing cube (removable) Looks snazzy CONS The laptop sleeve is not removable -- adds extra weight and thickness to the bag when not in use The rolltop opening takes longer to open than a zipper opening Overall, this is a good-looking, well-designed bag that fits me well and will get a lot of use. Tag says Made in Vietnam.

I purchased this bag for a weekend trip, as I wanted something that could hold my laptop and some clothes. I LOVE this bag. It fit perfectly under my seat and had a great pocket for my laptop, as well as a nice large compartment for some clothes. It also comes with a packing cube that takes up the entirety of the large compartment, but you dont need to use if you dont want. I used it for clothes and then still had room at the top for a few items. The front pocket is so well organized. I had my chargers in that pocket and it had a great clip for your keys. The thing I liked most was the side access. There are two zippers on the side of the bag so you can access the laptop or the main compartment without unrolling the top of the bag. Very handy while going through security and needing to take out my laptop. Finally, the bag was super comfortable to carry. The straps were perfectly padded and the back was nice and stiff, but also very padded, so there was alot of support. Highly recommend for someone looking for an easy carry-on bag that you can use for your laptop and some clothes for the weekend.

I have been reading reviews for a few months and finally decided on this backpack because reviews said it would fit my 16 MacBook. I could not be happier with this backpack. I work digitally and so I have lots of tech that I need to be able to carry around including my MacBook, iPad, hard drives, camera, and lots of cords, etc. This backpack holds it all with room to spare. I put my laptop in the designated back pocket and then my camera, iPad, planner/paperwork in the larger space then when I am working I turn the backpack on its side and unzip the side pockets to get to what I need. So far Ive not used the top roll opening at all. Setting it on its side makes it function a lot like a briefcase would but then you have the comfort of carrying it like a backpack. It is exactly what I was looking for and Im very happy with my purchase.

I like the design, it has spacious compartment, and feel sturdy. Highly recommended.

Hi ! One of the main reasons to select this model of bag instead of Osprey or Wandrd was the functionality of having the packing cube with all my clothes and quickly removing it and turning into a regular backpack. So it was very disappointing and shocking when I received the bag without the packing cube. Would like to ask for the Amazon support to receive it !!! Thanks in advance, Rafael Iglesias

I fly often for work and this bag provides great access no matter how it goes under the seat in front of me.

Wonderful bag, quality is very good and in most case pretty par with Timbuk2 brand quality, I had to replace it since I am looking for something more ergonomically and functional. Awesome compartment setup fits anything in there that carry your daily electronic and extra space for clothes, drinks and etc. This is a great bag for commute and travel seriously. 34L is perfect size for what I need daily. 40L might be too big. This bag is like a size of a human body torso. Laptop fits perfectly from the top drop in, the only thing I am worry is the zippy head inside for the laptop compartment may contact the laptop edge at the top. There is a potential chance to scratch the laptop. I dont carry Apple laptop which is more durable, some elegant laptop like the ASUS may be prone to scratches. I wish the side zipper access to laptop compartment could open a bit wider, sometime I struggle to squeeze the laptop in and out of the laptop because of the length or horizontal length of the laptop keyboard. Just a note, it will fit almost any laptop up to 15 with the similar dimensions of MacBook Pro even the older thicker version would work from the size access and from the top access. If you carry a bulky laptop like those gaming ones, you only be able to access from top. The side access; good luck squeezing it through.
