They have a slight smell of plastic, but then again, I just took them out of their package .It immediately elevated the look of my toilet. I really hate tissue boxes. I find them really tacky but they are necessary. These immediately made it look very classy. I bought 6 for my bathrooms and some of the bedrooms. Highly recommend.
