Wire is not too stiff, I measured 18ga copper stranded cable. I was incredulous these cables are still made but apparently several new devices use it. It fits an old VIC-20 computer perfectly snug. The texture of the plastic is somewhat rubberized, making it easy to grip. Excellent price and a quality cable and connector.

Great replacement for the Airport Extreme. Of course, it would be much better in white but since it was for cable management in my case, I was hiding the cable away anyways.
