Totes Micro Mini Manual Compact Umbrella, NeverWet technology, Colorful dots on black, 38 arc Coverage

I purchased this specifically for a spring trip to Europe, when the weather can be unpredictable, as I wanted something super lightweight and compact enough to fit in my travel purse without weighing it down. Overall, a very solid purchase. Size-wise, it was perfect - super compact and very light. I don’t love manual umbrellas, preferring those with auto open at the push of a button, but since even the smallest of the latter style was bigger than I wanted to carry with me on my trip, manual it was. The opening/closing manually was smooth, the umbrella itself was quite sturdy despite its small size, and I like that it dried quickly and came with a cover/case that you could slip it back into without getting the rest of the stuff in your purse wet after use. The only downside for me was that the coverage area was small, but that’s to be expected when you buy an umbrella specifically for its small travel size. It was fine for me, but my husband and I couldn’t use it together when we got caught in the rain once on the trip.

In the past, I have had a totes umbrella and had no problems with it, in fact it lasted me about 10 years! When that one finally fell prey to time and use, I decided to get a new one in hopes that it would live up to the previous expectations. It clearly did not. I have used this umbrella TWICE. The first time it opened fine, but I had a hard time closing it. I was able to get it closed, but it took me about 2 minutes. Today I got caught in a torrential downpour, but logically thought I would be able to use my umbrella. It barely opened and I could not get it closed. So, after 2 uses, it met an early death in my dumpster. Wish it had lived up to my previous standards. Skip this purchase and get something that will actually last.

This is a great umbrella to always have in your bag for unexpected rain. Dont expect it to be like the sturdy big umbrellas, but it does withstand pretty strong winds, considering its size and weight.

So tiny! I love it. A little hard to push up but nothing I can’t handle.
