The Totes Womens Sunguard One-Touch Auto Open Umbrella is a handy addition to my wife’s carry-on bag. The outside of the umbrella is coated with Neverwet, that sheds water very well but does not add noticeable weight. The 41 inch diameter canopy has good protection even in the afternoon downpours we have here in South Carolina. It also blocks harmful UV rays and does not transmit a lot of heat when used as a sunshade. The Gradiated Stripe design is nice looking with repeating patterns of color stripes. The Totes is strengthened by 8 struts that are reinforced in the center of the canopy and have folding strut extensions out toward the perimeter that provide eaves that block wind. The end points of the strut extensions are double stitched to the canopy fabric. The 20 inches high center pole has three connected metal sections that are strong and provide a telescoping function that reduces the closed unit to 11 inches. A pink button allows the user to open the umbrella with one push while grasping a plastic handle that has two finger grips and a hand loop. A 3 inches wide Velcro flap closes the folded canopy into a 2.5 inches in diameter bundle. We have bought good Totes before, and this one is even better.

while this umbrella does automatically close, it will not open unless it is closed and then folded all the way down and then reopened. its extra cumbersome that i cant just automatically close it, put it on the floor of the car, and then reopen it as i exit the car. you need to close it and then also compact it before it will open again... i convenience of the automatic close is offset by the fact you need to then fumble with a wet umbrella to fold it down before you can use it again.

Use it all the time! Only wish would be for it to be a bit bigger but dries quickly, fits in my handbag, and looks cute.

Easy open and close! I love the animal print, so cute! The only thing that is a very small negative is that there is no accompanying cover that most umbrellas have. I’m not sure if that’s because it has superior wetness repellent or some other reason. I think the most important things to know is that it appears very sturdy and it’s very easy to open and close. It’s not extremely heavy, but it’s not what I would consider “lightweight”. I’ve tried the lightweights in the past, but they are not sturdy and do not open and close very easily. Overall, I would completely recommend this umbrella! Totes is a trusted brand! Over the years, I’ve owned many! Too sad I forget and leave and lose them! Hopefully I’ll hang on to this one for a long time!

Broke after using twice!

Matches my granddaughter’s backpack perfectly as she heads off to college, and it is a nice 43 “ umbrella that folds into an easy size to carry in her backpack and she loves it

LOOKS GOOD

Don’t waste your money. The umbrella doesn’t stay closed and it just keeps popping open. It also comes with a $10 price tag, but I paid almost $13. Totes has a “lifetime warranty” but you have to pay $5 for a replacement. I’m not going to pay $18 for a defective umbrella. Trash.
