From reading the reviews, I thought this product would be altogether superior to similar items priced a few bucks lower. Not so. It is a different shape, but the general build seems about the same as less expensive competitors. BUT in one specific respect, it is substantially stronger - and less vulnerable - that the many trimmers I have dropped. That is, the actual spindle - the part that spins, is much better protected and may itself be more substantial. I havent tried dropping it yet, but it seems to have been beefed up in exactly the right place. I recommend it. P.S. I JUST RECEIVED THE CASE FOR THIS. IT IS EXCELLENT - WELL MADE AND PROTECTIVE.

Good solid case. Does the job. I dont really travel much, but I keep the trimmer in the case except when it is drying from being rinsed.
