I use it to dye cotton yarn. Its not easy to work with. Rinsing takes forever and it always leaves residues that, when dried, are like hard clumps on the fiber. Sadly I cant find anything better.

Tulip one step dye packs are ok if you need a quick fix color, but honestly there really is no special deal. Or you can say- for what you pay, you hardly get any product.....I personally dont think its worth it.

It worked great. The family loves to tie dye in the summer. The black dye made for some awesome spider shirts with a new pattern I came across. Very fun!!

Love it! These refills are perfect if you have the small Tulip squirt bottles already and you just need refills for certain colors. I love the tie-dye effect. I bought the black refills and it worked perfectly. This is the crumple tie dye technique. In the picture it looks more on the blue side but it is closer to black in person.

The advertisements says: Tulip Tie-Dye Paint Refills includes nine refills of 2-oz., safe and non-toxic paints. and showed a picture with various dye colors. Instead I received a single refill with 3 packets of black dye. Since I placed the order theyve changed the picture to show only black dye, but the description is still very misleading. I will avoid Fun Express in the future.

I ordered black and they came in dissolving packets (I don’t think all colors come in dissolving packets - my fuchsia came in plastic packets that you cut open and pour in a bottle). For some reason for BLACK the packets don’t dissolve all the way, causing the dye consistency to be chunky and clot-like. Sometimes the I couldn’t get the dye to come out of the bottle and other times it would come out and squirt every where. Worse of all, sometimes it would come out in big “clots” and ended up ruining my projects. I’m really annoyed. My yellow also came in dissolving packets but for some reason I only encountered this issue with black.

All 3 of the packets left blue/navy splotches on the shirts. Its like the dye didnt dissolve properly (though why are there blue splotches in the black dye?). After the first one, I thought maybe it was a fluke. I used hot water and waited a little longer to let all the dye dissolve, but still had the same problem. The final result was also more of a grayish - definitely not true black. I didnt have any trouble with the other colors - just the black. Maybe I got a defective batch?
