Whenever I have to pack or ship something, I use this paper tape. I have seen how it works in shipping. Ive had boxes that failed in shipping but this tape was still on he box, securing the flaps! I absolutely love this tape. Easy to rip with your hands. Easy to quickly unstick and readjust, yet the adhesion is great once you press it down. I bought this specifically to seal a closed back wall frame for a painting. I have since used it for packages and cardboard crafts. Its perfect!! Since it is paper like, you can paint over it/write on it easily and it blends right into cardboard projects. Way better than clear packing tape.

I first discovered this tape when I was moving and bought boxes from U-Haul. It sticks really well, and doesnt dry out and get brittle and fall off with time like the clear shipping tape that I used to use. Its also totally opaque, so its great for covering up writing and pictures on boxes so you can write labels on them.
