UEi Test Instruments PDT650 Folding Pocket Digital Thermometer,Yellow

I’ve been in the Hvac industries for 20+ yrs and have used plenty of different temp probes. I was hesitant to get this but saw a coworker with it and thought i’d give it a try. First time i used it readings were accurate. Went to use it again and nothing but - - - - i disassmenbled it to see if the wires to thermocouple were shorted or open. I was suprised to see they did not insulate the wire out of the probe back to the control board. Anyone that has used thermocouples before will know the annoyance of the wires shorting together. For the cost it’s more of an annoyance to send this back so in the garbage it goes. Hope this helps

A little slow. Hvac tech I use this every day other than a little slow it works great.

Sometimes it won’t shut off after pressing button. Sometimes it won’t go from F to C after pressing button. When reading temperature often times it goes up and the down and will repeat.

I use this for testing delta T on AC units while doing home inspections. Exactly what I need.

Pocket clip keeps it in place in top pocket, no more sagging dirty top pocket from having to dig for it.

Accurate, best design. Slightly cheap feeling. I wish it had a k terminal for additional probes

Got it from the mail checked the batteries didnt turn on

I purchased 2 of these in 2015 to measure the plenum air temps of my HVAC system. I recently noticed I was getting low battery indication on each device, so I installed new batteries and they are working as good as new. Other than one device reading 1° different from the other, and being a little hard to read because of the low light location of their installation, these thermometers have worked great so far. I am quite satisfied with them and hope to get many more years of service from them.
