This mat fits perfectly in my late 80s era kitchen cabinets. It makes my under-link area look fresh and clean. It is great to know that I wont have to worry about my sink leaking in this area and damaging my cabinets. The brush it comes with is nice and I am sure will be useful for cleaning other things as well.

I used this silicone mat for other than its primary purpose. I have three dogs who dribble around their water bowls when they drink, so I’m pleased to have a waterproof base large enough to contain their spills. The main purpose of the mat is to go under the sink and catch leaks before they leave sodden cabinets. It would also be ideal for this purpose, but you must measure your space to ensure it fits. The measurements are 39 ½ x 22 ½ inches, and the mat has a one-inch ridge around the edge to hold any water. It does have a drain hole for easy emptying.

I had previously gotten a couple of these in the past mostly as a It might save my butt someday. I am now singing its praises. The other night, I heard a drip noise, and when and looked, I saw that my faucet was dripping, and wouldnt stop. I was like, sigh...another thing for the weekend honey-do list. I woke up the next morning and noticed that my bathroom rug was slightly damp, and I thought that was weird. Did I over splashed when I used the sink last? So I decided it was a good time as any to mop the floor and I thought nothing of it. Later in the afternoon, I came back and noticed a small puddle in front of the sink where every else was dry. Because the puddle was small, I kept thinking it had something to do with me over splashing while washing my hands. But then I heard 2 drips, and I was like uh-oh. and I opened the sink cabinets, and the whole mat was full of water. I guess a bit of water would escape off the sides between the cabinet doors and pool itself in a small puddle right in front of the sink. I stopped the leak and wet vacd the mat dry. My heart was racing a mile a minute, cause my downstairs neighbor is very litigious. Her ex-husband (attorney) constantly gives her free legal services to keep the peace, and she has no problem taking advantage of that. Once the mat was dry, and no more drips, I removed the mat to see the damage - spotless! Wood was completely dry. I happy danced till I got the plumbers bill, but this could have been a lot worse if it wasnt for this product. Well worth the price for the peace of mind that you have a buffer to find a problem before it gets out of hand.

Being a serious DIYer I like to verify the products I use. This mat is truly 34” x 22”, so measure your cabinet before purchase. I even took this mat out onto my deck and filled it with water. I easily poured 2 gallons into it and it held up. I will say that the drainage hole does work, but it works very slowly. I let it run for a few minutes without a noticeable drop of the 2 gallons that I had poured into the mat. I know many manufacturers have the drainage hole and it’s probably a nice feature depending on the situation, but I probably won’t use it. Picture this, you have your mat under your kitchen sink and it’s full of 1-2 gallons of something, how do you use the drainage hole without moving the mat? You’d have that something all over. Plus the drainage hold points down, but your cabinet is below it. I wish that I had this silicone mat earlier, it would have saved some damage to my cabinet. My backyard faucet shut-off valve is under the kitchen sink and it leaked when I shut it down for the winter. I have since replaced the faucet washer and that fixed the problem, and this mat will help me next time (hopefully there won’t be a next time). Overall, it’s a good silicone mat, but take your measurements first.

The material seems to be durable. It would also be easy to clean but I dont feel the usage for this application would be practical. The under the sink liner didnt come with any type of instructions. Although I see that the mat drain would have to go through a hole in the base cabinet there is a support in the middle and in the way. Im going to use it as is just for spills and cleaning purposes. I think thats the way it fits my needs best.
