> 24 hourI often thought something like this would be a godsend to a homeowner who does minor electrical repairs. Instead of turning on and off every breaker in the house, requiring multiple clock resets, you plug this into an outlet, go down stairs and Voila, you find the right breaker and turn it off. Of course you do the necessary verifications afterward, but this saves you a lot of running around (especially if you are alone). When I used this for the first few times, I was convinced it did not work. So I held off doing my review, convinced it was user error and having used this on multiple breakers since, figured out that was the case. If you have the sensitivity on low (spinning wheel adjustment you turn it on with), you will get no breakers showing as the right one. If you turn it on high, you will get multiple breakers. The secret is to turn this thing up or down till you get one. When you initially turn it on, it is on max by default, rotating down, it gets lower. I found this super confusing. The reverse would make more sense, or if the light got duller when low and brighter when high. I kept turning it the wrong way. But that is me. However I checked 6 outlets in my house and initially some showed multiple breakers until I adjusted the sensitivity down. Most often adjoining, but one was not. Even testing on one of those outlet extenders (ones that go over an outlet and add outlets, USBs and even a shelf), it got the breaker. For the most part, I have some breakers labeled, but like most houses; additions and changes to the structure make finding the proper breaker a bit of a hunt and peck operation. Not all are labeled. The part you plug in also functions separately to check for the status of the outlet. I know years ago at my Mom’s there was this one outlet that used to give me a shock each time I used it and I found out using one of these types of detectors that it was not properly wired. An electrician fixed that one. He was surprised that it was even noticed. Mine you, I got a shock every time I used it, so hard not to notice. Tools like this can help you make your house safer. One thing I nearly failed to mention is the nice carrying case this comes in. So often tools go in a bag or drawer and sit until you need them. This case holds everything including the instructions and to me is a great addition to keep the integrity of this set of tools.

> 24 hourwhile nowhere near as good as the more expensive pro-level ones, this one works well enough to map out the mystery fuse box in the basement. Mine had just a couple labels- and even those were wrong. Now I can swap outlets and lights without having to take out the power on the whole house. The build quality is light and it wont take abuse like a pro tool- but its amazingly inexpensive and works.

> 24 hourUNI-T AC Circuit Breaker Finder with Integrated GFCI Outlet Tester AC 90-120V USA Plug + Adjustable Sensitivity Beeper Indicattion+ Flashing LED Light this is a sweet little gadget! Wish I had one of these when I was still doing remodeling work. Back in the old days youd have to plug in a light, 5hem hollar over to your buddy wife for kid, generally from the basement, hey! did it go out yet? Nope. Not yet... None of that nonsense with this little guy. Basically no problems getting it to work You start at the highest sensitivity and it did beep on about 4 circuit breakers then you dial down the sensitivity and then it didnt beep at all then you dial it up a just a little bit and then it beeps on just one breaker. brilliant. Just brilliant. One thing I did notice though is I have a power strip plugged into a power strip plugged into another power strip and I put the transmitter into that last power strip and that did not show up at the panel. So it does seem To be better if you plug the transmitter directly to a wall outlet. Would absolutely recommend this.

> 24 hourI had this, and less than 1 year it failed to take proper reading of the outlet wiring. So the gfci part of that unit will prematurely fail but can still use it for circuit breaker sniffer. One of the LED bulbs will fail prematurely. So if you have a good outlet that you know and you plug this gfci plug in and only one light goes on, its a sure sign of this failure. So now, I just use it for circuit breaker sniffer, and a separate GFCI tester. Not happy.

> 24 hourThis works well on standard breakers. It works okay on double circuit breakers, as it can be tough to determine which portion of the double breaker is actually the right one since the sensor head is large enough to cover both. The key in general is to adjust the sensitivity high enough to see the flow of electricity, but as low as possible, so that you can isolate the one circuit breaker that is actually active. The fact that the transmitter unit also functions as a circuit tester, and a GFCI tester, is a nice added feature. One 9v battery is required and is included. It is inside the receiver and must have the plastic wrapper removed and then be connected. The included zippered storage case is nice. The English translation of the one page Operations Manual is usable.

> 24 hourI ordered this to add to my electricians toolkit. Ive been to houses before to diagnose electrical problems. It can be frustrating when the circuit breakers arent marked inside the panel. So I thought this would come in quite handy. One of those tools you dont use often, but when you need it, it pays for itself. So I tried it out the other day. The outlet had no power. Using the tester, I was able to locate the circuit and it had a GFCI in the panel. I tried the transmitters GFCI test on a couple outlets in our house. The test worked perfectly. Next I tried the receiver paired with the transmitter to locate a breaker in the panel. The first try, I got nothing. I reread the instructions and then double checked the battery. I included a picture of the battery as shipped. I first glanced at it and thought all was good. The battery is shipped wrapped, inside the compartment, but its not connected. You will need to remove the battery, remove the wrapping and plug it in. After connecting the battery, the tester worked perfectly. I tried two outlets and was able to detect their breaker inside the panel. A great tool for identification purpose. The UNI-T transmitter is easy to read. The key is printed right on the tester for reference. I have a similar outlet tester with small LEDs on it. This UNI-T is much easier to see and read, glowing brightly. I tried it on multiple outlets, finding nothing wrong. The UNI-T AC circuit breaker tester and finder is a welcome addition to my toolkit. For the current price of $28, certainly a reasonable price for a tool sure to prove invaluable. Im happy with it and recommend it.

> 24 hourWe have a home built in 1959. The breaker box has a few labels, but they mostly identify the 220 circuits for the stove top, oven, dryer and water heater. As for the rest of the circuits for lights and outlets, few of them are marked and Ive found a couple of them marked wrong. This works best with two people so you dont have to keep running back and forth. The sending unit is plugged into an outlet and the receiving unit is passed over the circuit breakers. When you have the active circuit, the receiving unit lets you know. Once you have gone through your whole house, there is never again that need to flip circuits on and off trying to find the right ones.
