Uniden Bearcat 980 40-Channel SSB CB Radio with 7-Color Digital Display

Been into radio for many years. This CB is very impressive. Can be used nicely for mobile or base.

for me ,i.ve been out of cb radios for over 20 years.things have changed so much. for the better.this radio has so much to offer. in the old days, i.d probably pay a hell of a lot more and not get anywhere near as much for my money. uniden has made a very good radio for the buck. if you want a nice ssb radio and don.t have alot of money, buy this one before somebody at the factory tries to improve it and mess it up.if i could, i.d buy a couple and put them away for later. thank you uniden bearcat 980 ssb tom....

I’m not reviewing the radio as I have not used it yet. I noticed a lot of reviews stating that you can’t shut off the beeping noise when changing channels or using other button/knob functions. To remedy (turn offf beeping) press and hold the “ANL/NB” button for one second and no more beeps! It’s in the user manual although it’s poorly defined. No more annoying and unnecessary beeps.

I researched for a week before deciding to buy this one, and it does everything it says it can. After setting the SWR I found some people chatting on channel 38 lower sideband, and asked for a radio check. They told me I was loud and clear, and they were over 20 miles away from my location!! It was even better quality than I thought it was going to be, and I really love that it has 7 colors to choose from. Excellent little radio! Shipping was on time, and the price is right!

Radio it works great love it

Radio worked good for little over a year. The volume/power knob would randomly not turn the radio on and now it doesnt work at all. At least I got it on sale, but still kind of crappy that it stopped working right after warranty expired. Radio shop told me repairing it wouldnt be worth it. Feels like a ripoff.

I love this radio gives seven different color options for the display which is different. And it really gets out!

This is my second 980. The first one that I bought two years ago has a defective display that fades out when the radio warms up. As for this unit, so far, so good. Ive had it running for 48 hours now and all is working flawlessly. Regarding shipping I have to say that the seller shipped immediately and the radio arrived a day before it was scheduled. Needless to say, I would buy from this seller again.

After 3 weeks of use in my Big Truck the display started to fail..eventually lost all the display..not much use for a radio that you cant tell what frequency you are on...so there it sits in the box it came in as a paper weight..enough said.

The radio works fine and is what was advertised in the description.
