I like the UV blocking feature. It does cut a good amount of heat during the middle of very hot days. It is also very portable. Its a bit on the thicker side, but I think that the UV blocking material makes it bulkier. Although it is much bulkier than my compact Totes umbrella, it is surprisingly only 1.7 oz. heavier than the Tote. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it does tend to flip up in moderate wind.

I am very disappointed with this umbrella. I have a sun reflective umbrella that I bought years ago from Amazon that is no longer being sold. I’ve been really pleased with that one - it’s windproof & has worked very well for me For my walks every day and for soccer games with the grandkids. So I wanted to get another one for my husband. The choice seemed to be to either get a smaller one like this one or to buy a very large one and I made the decision to go with this one based on the reviews. This is a compact size which I think is it’s only advantage in that we were able to pack it into a suitcase for a recent trip on a plane. However in very light wind this umbrella blew inside out repeatedly perhaps damaging the frame. And this was on the very first use. It is not big enough it is not sturdy enough and it is not wind resistant in any way. Therefore the only good thing I can say about it is that it’s small enough to fit in a suitcase so we will keep it for when we need to travel but otherwise it’s useless and I’m ordering a different one to replace it for home use.

I received first one broken. After trying another brand and finding their canopy still let a lot of light in, I decided to give this one another try. So I ordered this again, plus I was happy to find a medium size one just a smidge bigger, (I dont notice the size difference when I use), but without the compact folding. I hoped the simpler closing mechanism would wear better. So I bought two of these, the small compact and the medium. (they also make a golf umbrella umbrella, which I havent tried). Ive had both for a few months now, I predominantly use the medium, almost daily, and its held up well and is great. I love having it with a history of skin cancer and being in Arizona, I need this to walk dog or just go in and out of the yard doing chores during the day. Occasionally I use the compact, the size is nice if you travel, and I havent had any issues (or used a lot but I do use here and there). Im glad I gave it another try and the initial one that I received defective was hassle free to return and cost me nothing. So you dont have a lot to lose trying this out. Its been really great to have one of these.

If you need an umbrella for sun protection this one is it. I live in Las Vegas so not much rain but brutal sun. Ive used this almost everyday for the last 5 months. Outstanding for sun protection and has held up well to strong winds. Its been worth every penny. Im about to purchase 2 more.

I tested it and i could tell the difference of how it was blocking sun compared to regular umbrellas.

I purchased this umbrella for a very specific trip to Saudi Arabia where the temperature was 115 at its peak and upper 90s at night. I knew what I was getting into hence I wanted to see how this umbrella would hold up against 1. Sun 2. Wind, and 3. Rough usage. 1. Sun. I felt an immediate drop by 7° in temperature merely by opening it and sitting or walking in its shade. It served its purpose for this, although I was expecting a little more comfort from the heat than I got after prolong usage. 2. Wind: there were two specific incidents when I feel this failed against the wind. Once was miserably. Against the wind gust it was weary but against the force of a suction fan in a tunnel, it folded. I feel this wasnt its best moment. 3. With so many umbrellas being used around yourself, there is bound to be clashes between some and you have to expect being yanked at times. This umbrella did good in the crowd overall, and never ripped or tore up. Although, it must be pointed out that there were some distinct tear markings by the folds after two weeks of usage. I was completely unsatisfied with that happen from normal usage and I hope to hear from the company why a $47 umbrella would wear out after two weeks. I used a UV umbrella my friend purchased from me last year. It was $12 but it lasted the entire trip. The arm broke on the last day but the canvas never teared once.

As a resident of a tropical city and with melanoma problems on my skin, I always have to take care of the sun. This umbrella is very good quality, robust and I really feel protected from UV rays. I use it daily, especially in the summer. The product arrived on time and very well packed.

I have two sizes of this umbrella compact and golf, I LOVE them. You could feel how much it shields the sun from your body, you dont feel the burning heat on your skin. You could also see how dark of a shadow the umbrella makes compared to others.
