> 3 dayI have had a variety of these plunger/vacuum solder removers over the past 30 years (!). By far, this is the best one I have ever seen. The vacuum chamber is extremely powerful (more on that in a minute), but the soft silicone tip is the key. It allows you to seal the tip around the connection point, right up against the hot soldering iron tip and the component lead and solder pad, and thus thoroughly draw ALL the solder out of the connection. This is the first one Ive ever had that can thoroughly remove all the solder from an IC or other device with lots of pins so that you can actually get it to drop out without destroying it. Now, as to the vacuum power. It has a lot of oomph, but unfortunately, that comes with a price. The spring in the chamber is so strong that there is a whale of a recoil on this thing when you push the button to activate it. You need to have the circuit board well supported from behind or it will go flying away from the tip when you fire it, and then it doesnt work well. You MUST keep the tip firmly in contact with the joint when firing it in order for it to work well. -- The short bit of silicone tube slipped onto the end as the contact tip is easy to replace. The sell accessory packages of the tubing that you can cut yourself to make new tips. You can also use silicone model airplane fuel tubing available in hobby shops that sell model airplane supplies. The tubing tip is extremely durable. It does not melt... at all... even when pressed right up against a hot soldering iron.

20-11-2024I use this for my keyboard hobby and by far one of the best suction tools out there. Ive owned plenty of suction tools and this one is probably my favorite so far.

Greater than one weekThis is a disappointment in every way. Strongly recommend you avoid this. First, the size of the tool is too small for average hands. This makes it awkward and difficult to use. At times dangerous. Second, the suction is not that great. More than once it splattered solder everywhere. Third, it broke and would no longer push fully in or retract, after about five minutes of usage. Horrible. Avoid.

> 3 dayI purchased this with much anticipation, expecting much better suction. I was not prepared to how small this pump is. I have small hands and it as such this pump is too small to comfortably use long term. The suction seems about the same as my old cheap device, perhaps not as great. For one, the other pump is much larger and hence it pulls a lot more volume of air. Well see long term how it does. I will say, the silicone tip does resist temps better than the teflon version.

> 3 dayUsed this solder sucker on the night I received it from Amazon. Great performance and no disappointment. Should serve well on my electronics bench for many years. Model: VT-001-SS by Vampire tools.

> 3 dayI have a PCB with a thickness of 111mm. With a soldering tool, I was able to remove the connector, but still has solder remain in the PCB holes. This prevents me from putting in a new connector. Using this solder sucker tool, I was able to remove all the solder from the connectors holes. It takes some practice to master the usage of this tool. It will take time but does work much better than using the solder wick.

> 3 dayI saw this kind of solder sucker a few times and though hey thats a great idea, it looks way better than those 30 year old blue RS ones. so I bought one. it was bad. bad bad bad so bad. the plunger would jam every single pump. the end went flying. I threw it away. I then saw this one. It looked a bit different. so did some research on the company. turns out they make legit tools. This was enough to convince me to actually throw down money again on this kind of product. This is the one. it works INCREDIBLY well. fits nicely in your hand. The others were way larger and more cumbersome. Suction is extremely powerful and cleans most holes in one shot. In fact it can pull so much solder in one shot that cooled bits will likely pop back out when you go to reload so make sure to do it over a bowl/cup. Its easily reloadable and triggerable with one hand, not having to contort your hand in extreme ways to do it. It even comes with a couple inches of extra replacement tubing you can cut as needed. It also hasnt jammed on me once. 5/5 across the board. this works exactly like you would expect and is well worth the money. recommending this to other EE friends.

> 3 dayThe size is perfect. I am a female in the electronic business for 25 years. This is small and has powerful suction. I’ve used many more expensive but this ones the best
