I have several of these, in different sizes, that I use to check gas ports in rifle barrels. Ive checked the pins for size and each one is as advertised.

I bought 6 of these gages individually to determine the size of locking shoulder I need for an FAL rifle. I bought a Vulcan Arms Locking Shoulder Sizing Rod, but it only goes down to .255. FALs built with DS Arms receivers seem to be notorious for requiring much smaller locking shoulders, and my FAL is one of them.

A must have for machining

Used this to check & verify various calipers and micrometers in my shop. It meets the tolerance class for the diameter. What was surprising was the length was found to be in the same class. No storage case provided. I use a heavy mill bag that has a coating of very fine machine oil inside to prevent rust to store gage and well marked with appropriate data. I do NOT use this to replace calibration; used only to verify prior to use accuracy of tools.
