It’s getting harder and harder to find big-screen TVs with component (RGB and audio) connections. Since Wii has long-since been replaced by newer tech, this gizmo is necessary to allow the Wii to communicate with new TVs that use (primarily) HDMI connection. As long as the Wii still works, this adapter will delay your having to replace it with PS-X or Xbox.

it outputs 720x480 60p. the whole 1080p is a lie. but it works for what i wanted anyways (to get rid of the component cables)

Work great right out of the box. Nothing to set up. Perfect picture. Can’t believe I lived without it.

I had an old Wii and the flat panel tv is mounted so that the AV access was blocked. This was a perfect adapter and it connected seamlessly to the hdmi cord. The quality might even be a bit better.
