Virbac Epi-Soothe Shampoo, 8 oz

How is this for sensitive skin if it has sodium lauryl sulfate as its second ingredient (water being the first). Sulfate dries out the skin.

Ended up not needing it.

I have only used this conditioner once, and I shall not use it again. After shampooing my dog with her usual shampoo I tried Epi-soothe and my dog is by no means soothed. Initially she was vomiting and fatigued. She has since developed a dry itchy rash all around her face and on her front legs. The Epi-Soothe has caused her eyelids to swell up and secrete some sort of mucous. She is intensely itchy and seemingly nothing can ease the pain she is enduring. Seemingly, the active ingredient causing the allergic response is DMDM hydantoin. This agent causes contact dermatitis in humans and animals and is the leading cause of skin allergies brought on by cosmetics. Excessive usage is known to cause cancer in animals and weaken the immune system. As a general warning, if you have an allergy prone dog your best option is to stay far away from this product. I would not wish for your dog to suffer the same misery that Epi-Soothe has inflicted on my dog.

Best pet conditioner weve used and smells great.

If you never buy its shampoo counterpart, at least buy the creame-rinse! This stuff smells amazing and rinses out clean.

I ONLY use Epi Soothe products on my Westie. I mostly use the Shampoo, conditioner, and ResiCORT leave in conditioner and sometimes the spray Humilac spray. Westies are HIGH maintenance dogs and recommend Virbac products highly. I bathe her with Epi Soothe shampoo once or twice a week. I put on the Epi Soothe cream rinse too (you can leave this in if you like but I rinse it off her). I towel dry her and then put on pretty thick layer of Resicort especially around her feet and her vulva (which is also discolored from her licking). Putting Resicort on these areas has reduced chewing by at least 50% - 70% and her feet are almost completely white like they should be.

Is really thick and smells really good, my two yorkies have seasonal allergies and first time using it but seems to help they are not scratching as usual

I cancelled my order for Virbac shampoo & sent it back.
