> 24 hourI had this scanner for less than a year and Visioneer has the worst technical support (may be on planet earth). For some reason, the scanner stops scanning in the middle of the first page, and there are no solutions. I installed the software and drivers on a new dell PC, and it came up with the same error. I bought atleast 12 scanners from visioneer directly, and Im not buying this brand anymore for my company.

> 24 hourIve used this for work use for a couple of years and it is the 2nd worst scanner Ive ever used. The first was an older Visioneer scanner. Documentation and support are poor, the software is hit and miss and the user interface is horrible. The auto straighten feature hasnt worked from day one and their on-line help is of no use. I would highly recommend the Fujitsu Snapscan over and Visioneer product.

> 24 hourI have now owned this scanner for two weeks and it has been two weeks of hell. From the first try there was problems. I have excellent scanning software and the last scanner I added for my business was a piece of cake. I cant tell if the scanner works because all it keeps saying is that there is a problem with scanner intreface. I have own this for two weeks and I have not been able to scan one piece of paper right. Now lets talk about tech support for this company. I have never talked to a bunch of useless people in my life. They offered little or no assistance. They just direct you to there website which i had already done and still they were not willing to help with this product. I have excellent computer skills and have never had as many problems with downloading drivers and getting a product to work. If you want to spend 600.00 dollars and get no assistance and not be able to you the product than this is the product for you. All I can say is it is an expensive paperweight and I will never buy anything from visioneer ever again.

> 24 hourReal workhorse. I used these in the office years ago and this is a newer, smaller version of that one. Excellent scanning, fast. Duplex/simplex/color/bw, what else do you need? Also, their tech support is EXCELLENT.

> 24 hourI read previous reviews of this scanner scoring one star. I have a vastly different experience. Installation was a snap. Im running it at thye office with an outdated computer, Athlon 800 with 500 MB memory running XP professional. I already had PaperPort 9 installed, I updated it with the included version 11. I also installed the Omnipage but I dont really use that software. The scanner is very fast, duplex. Ive been using it for 4 months now and I havent had any paper mismanagement. It is recognized by PhotoImpact and PhotoShop. Im also using it with Digital Jacket, a medical DICOM reader, for document scanning. No problems. Ive scanned letter, A4, 5x3 and index cards. No problem at all. Im writing this review because I just decided to buy another one for home use. I several times moved the scanner between my workplace and home to scan documents such as bank statements etc. on my home computer thats running some sort of Intel 4-core with 2 gig memory and XP professional. This is my first sheet-feed scanner that does what I expect. I had three sheet-feed scanners previously, from three different companies. They didnt do a good job. I was the most surprised about a top-brand printer companys scanner that I could never make work with well-known software (see above) and gave me nothing but frustration. In comparison I am perfectly happy with my Patriot 430. I would hate to buy a scanner that has one star reviews only, so with my five-star rating will have an average at least two stars if not three :0) Update on 12/2/2016: Its unbelievable but five years after my last update I am still using this scanner without any major problems. Minor glitch: The folding paper holders left plastic connection broke. Fix: a piece of wide invisible tape. I am not using the scanner daily but whenever its used its abused. I used to archive folders that I dont want to keep any longer physically but I am afraid to completely scrap. So it takes 2-3 hours of scanning of hundreds, if not thousands of pages at once. I have to be careful with paper clips. When I bought this scanner I used an Athlon 800 machine running XP. After about 3 computer upgrades now I am running a 5th gen Core i7 computer with W10 thank you very much. Whenever I upgraded the OS or bought a new computer the drivers were installed without a problem, automatically. In fact, that old problem when a paper jam had to be followed by a OS reboot no longer exists. I wait about 1 minute, then the scanner reports ready. 5 stars.
