This is a great travel umbrella. It is a little larger than my old one, but that is a good thing because most umbrellas I feel are too small. The automatic open on this is seriously lightning fast, as soon as you hit the button it springs remarkably fast (almost startling). The close on it is just as responsive as soon as you hit the same button. It does take a bit of push to get the center pole to compress back into its closed position, but thats why you get that great fast opening. The umbrella feels really sturdy and also has a handle that is comfortable to hold on to.

Not all umbrellas are created equal! This model is sturdier than most. There is a button on the handle, so with just a push it will snap open. Push again and it will snap shut, then push the top down to lock in the handle. Very easy to operate. This umbrella also offers better coverage from the elements once it’s open. When it’s blowing and pouring rain you’ll be glad to have this one with you! Time will tell how this holds up over time, but we have a couple of similar style ones that weve had for several years that are still going strong, so Im hoping that this one also last a long time.

Be careful where you point when opening this umbrella. It explodes open very quickly. Otherwise, the umbrella appears to be sturdy. Once it opens you will not be able to fit it back into the sleeve it comes with, unless you are really clever and can fold it up like when you first get it.
