> 24 hourI did not expect this to work for the price and was amazed that it does and how quickly it scans a slide. No buzzing, waiting. I have hundreds of slides which I dont want to keep - so this converter works well for my purposes. The slide carrier is poorly designed - and because of that it doesnt fit the slide mount very well and doesnt close completely. Therefore its hard to put the slide carrier all the way through. The slide carrier is strictly and push and pull operation. I am able to use just one half of the carrier - so instead of loading all 4, I load two. I have a photo editing software which I use to process the scans afterwards - so if you dont have that, you might not like this converter. If I have a slide that is really special, I would not rely on this scanner to make a copy worth keeping.

> 24 hourThe machine worked exactly as advertised. I was able to digitize all my old negatives and slides, something I had wanted to do for many years. The instruction booklet was a little sparse in details, but eventually with a little trial and error, I was able to transfer the slides and negatives. At first I found the ability to transfer only three slides or five negatives a little tedious. But, after getting into a routine and using the mounting process as a respite, I was able to transfer the items forthwith. The hardest part was the constant cleaning of the converter screen because my slides were so dirty. Again, this feature wasnt covered very well in the booklet and it took a little trial and error to get it right. I was able to go through 3000 slides and numerous negatives and weed out all the bad ones. Of that, there were many. Again, it worked great!!!!!!

> 24 hourThis does a fine job of converting your old 35mm slides to JPEGs on your computer. You have to place the slides 3-at-a-time in a tray and then run them through the machine, one at a time. This work is slow and tedious, but the resulting images are very sharp if viewed on a computer screen or other device and they are JPEGs, so they can easily be emailed or burned on a DVD, with overall excellent results. My advice is to set this up where you can leave it set up and you can go back to it off and on, over the course of the day and run a few slides through at a time. To sit there for hours and do it can get really tedious. If you can afford to do so, hire some little kid to do it for you. Any average ten-year-old can master this machine a ten minutes. Be sure to buy a large-capacity sd card, like the kind you use in your digital camera. Simply insert it into this device and youre good to go. It comes with a cord that allows you to send the images directly to a tv screen,so you can create an old-fashioned slide show, but I dont recommend doing it. At that size, the images are not very sharp and the process is much too slow and tedious. Your audience will fall asleep (or slip away in the dark....).

> 24 hourI have been wanting to convert my negatives to digital to make it easier to share with family and friends so as to not lose my printed copies, and making a copy at Walmart for each would have been to expensive, skeptical about the ones seen at best buy for the money they wanted, plus no one there could give me any info on the product good or negative. This when I decided to join up with amazon since they had a large selection to choose from. It was posted for 96.00 and other sellers for less, so I tried one for 46.00 just to try it, glad I did loved it and found pictures long forgotten about all were appreciated on FB post and could not wait for me to post more. I called them hidden treasures, I wish I had my parents negatives that would have been great to see what they looked at many years back. quality of digital is that of the negative which can be enhanced with photoshop. takes time but you will get the hang of it, coping is fast loading takes more time memories are PRICELESS

> 24 hourThis scanner is very good for slides but you do have to spend some correction time after scanning. After scanning a few hundred slides, the stops (stops which set each slide in place) no longer worked. Not a problem except for very dark slides. The scans are done in 4 or 5 seconds each. There are normally some dark edges on one side or the other, or both and I correct that in Adobe photoshop. I also do any color correction in photoshop. Over all I am well pleased with the scanner and I have now used it to scan about 2000 to 3000 slides.

> 24 hourI bought this scanner as a gift for my father. We have a Mac and the description stated it works with Mac. The instructions are primarily for PCs. The instructions are hard to follow and in very small print. We wound up downloading the images directly to a card and not utilizing the Mac. Once the images are on the card we utilize a card reader to download the images to the Mac. The instructions are horrible but once we started to play with the unit we got the hang of it. The quality of the slides are great and some of these slides are over 40 years old. I do agree with previous reviewers that if the slides are very dark the unit does not convert the picture well. My father is enjoying the unit and overall am very happy I purchased it.

> 24 hourWhile my slides were converted, it was far from an easy task. Not one of those things you can do by rote, assembly line movements. The effort required close attention to details, and the set up of the equipment was not easy. One problem is that the power cord is short, and doesnt allow any movement of the converter away from the electric socket. My primary complaint is that the unit stopped working after about a hundred conversions, and the unit was returnable to Amazon after only 30 days. I did not immediately try to use the converter after I received it, so the 30 days had nearly expired when the unit stopped working. I notified amazon of the problem and requested return instructions, but I never heard back from them. VuPoint was very helpful in replacing my unit. I returned it to them with a $12.00 shipping and handling fee, and they replaced my unit and returned it to me without delay.

> 24 hourI bought this to digitize my parents family slides from many years ago. Once I got the slides on an SD card (you provide your own), I could copy them and send to my siblings who now live in distant states. The VuPoint Solutions Digital Film and Slide Converter works easily and quickly with little hassle. (The tray used to load the slides only holds three slides at a time, so buy additional trays if you have a closet full of slides. Then someone else can load while you push the tray through the Converter.) This worked so quickly that I ran out of slides before I ran out of time. The pictures can be viewed on your computer (via SD converter) and edited.

> 24 hourDecent but low resolution slide/negative scanner. Pros: 1. Simple to operate - its easy for an unskilled user to line up images and press the SCAN button. 2. Uses SC Card - Accepts large SD Cards to allow for TONS of scanning before transferring to computer. This is easy and transparent to the user. 3. Decent (not great) image quality. The scans are cropped (missing the edges), and they are low resolution. Both of these factors make them less than ideal, but the main expectation you should have is that this scanner will gave you snapshot quality and nothing more. If you seek a serious film scan, look for a much higher-end scanner. The main point here is that this slide scanner is decent but not great. If you want to scan a lot of slides or negatives at decent quality and call it a day, buy this. If you want archival quality, dont waste your time! Get something far better.

> 24 hourI have converted about 50 slides so far. I tried to select a variety of exposures and subjects to test the converter. There is a loss of quality, especially in slides that are contrasty to begin with. Contrast was increased in most images, similar to slide duplication process. Any details in very light portions of the images was lost. The most annoying thing is a blue streak that sometimes appears across the bottom. I havent figured out what causes this. It can be removed with Photoshop in most cases. Most slides required some fixing and enhancement with Photoshop. A few of the images were actually better than the original slide. I am happy I bought this item, in spite of its shortcomings. I like the option to use a memory card to store the images - which gives it great portability.
