5 stars for what it is! It isnt the fastest SSD on the market, but it doesnt need to be! The value for money here is amazing. WD is a trusted name in Drives and this one is well worth the scratch.

The hard drive is genuine, and I can use it as soon as my other accessories arrive. The packaging is also very good, and it matches other accessories perfectly.

I have had the 500gb drive for right at 5 months and it crashed on me. Put me in a boot loop and I was unable to use my last restore point or disc repair. I wiped the drive to reinstall windows. with it being an SSD its pretty impossible to recover any media. Everything is lost. When I reinstalled windows and did a disk check there were bad sectors found.

Wish I had done this years ago!

I normally swear by WD drives of any form factor, but dont purchase this drive for select Dell PCs, especially anything in the 7xxx line of machines, as the BIOS sees them, OS does not. Ive heard that if you format/partition the drive in another machine using Macrium Reflect, they will work. But, not having another machine with that capability, I cannot arrest to that. I violated my one rule if not looking at the Dell website for compatible drives. Ive since made a return request for a Crucial P3 500 gb NVMe drive, as the Dell website claims are compatible. We shall see in about 3 days. 3 stars since the compatibility issue. Otherwise, theyd get 5. Cant leave a 1, because its not their fault for the incompatibility.

Drive installed easily. System detected it properly. Installed clean OS to it with no issues.

I picked 2 of these up used for ~$200 shipped and they both had low hours / use on them and work better for my Acasis TBU401 enclosure to hit full speeds. I tested with 3 other drives and it just wasnt hitting the numbers I wanted to see. I dug into a ton of reviews and found this to be one of 3 that performed well and decided to pick one up for the enclosure and laptop to replace one of the slower tested ones while I was at it.

This is an insane amount of performance packed into a small amount of space. SSDs are so fast they might as well be RAM nowadays.

As always, best in class for the price. This was an add to my 1TB stock Samsung M.2 in my 2021 Razer 15 Advanced laptop and works great. But I couldnt help but notice that the lower end Samsung stock drive reads faster even when the WD drive was new and empty. Hmmm... I guess that says something about Samsungs NVME chips. Still very satisfied.
