WD_BLACK 1TB SN770 NVMe Internal Gaming SSD Solid State Drive - Gen4 PCIe, M.2 2280, Up to 5,150 MB/s - WDS100T3X0E

I use this NVMe SSD to store all my games along with random apps, only regret I have is wishing I would have got a 2TB than a 1TB, and definitely impressed at the speeds, far faster than any external 2.5-inch SSDs.

My dell with i7 processor with 12 GB memory and 1T hdd got 40 times faster with this ssd purchase. In other words for $60 I got a laptop 40 x faster.

This is an insane amount of performance packed into a small amount of space. SSDs are so fast they might as well be RAM nowadays.

We had a 2017 iMac that was running painfully slow. A cold boot would take several minutes to finish, and every time an app was loaded, you had to wait for a beach ball. No amount of maintenance solved the slowness issue (including a factory reset with full clearing of system cache). Then, I ran Black Magic against the on-board factory drive and found it was running at about 25Mbps read/write. So I attached a `WD_BLACK 500GB SN770 NVMe` boot drive using an Acasis enclosure and Thunderbolt 4 cable and Black Magic reported roughly 2,500Mbps read/write--100 times faster. So for less than US$150, our 5-year old iMac has a new lease on life.

Totally dead under 1 year of use, spend the extra money and get the better Samsung.

This thing is fast, installed in a gen4 capable system. You can use the free WD version of Acronis to clone your boot drive.

Data transfer is amazing. Just remember you are only really getting 1.8 TB. Not sure how manufactures are getting away with this but thats the way it is for all drives.
