I use for storage and Im not a gamer. I continue to have good performance and reliability with WD Black Drives. This drive also has a robust case.

No issues yet. Great speed and space.

I keep my files in 3 places: cloud, hdd and ssd drives. Redundancy gives me peace of mind. I dont trust any device after losing important files, or paying for recovery, due to malfunctions, crashes or accidents. I dont trust the cloud either, the service can be interrupted by power outages and natural disasters. Works great as external storage for a PS4(Pro)/XB1. Games run with no lag or hiccups, everything loads as fast or faster than the internal storage. For PC, its great for storage and keeping stuff you dont use as much. Or dont need the faster speeds of SSD and NVME drives for.

WD_Black external hard drives currently have a 3-year warranty. When received, I looked up the warranty on the device. The warranty started 48 days before I even ordered it. When received at the Amazon Prime Locker, the plastic shipping bag was already slightly opened by 4 inches (10cm). Either someone got curious or the shipping bag was not sealed properly.

Bought for my ps4 for extra storage. Worked great with it. Ps4 recognized it then formatted it and have had zero issues with it. Games run smoothly cant tell any difference between games on it and on the ps4 harddrive. One complaint though not a major one the supplied cable is really really short. Ive only had this for a couple months so I cant comment on how it will hold up.

A great compact and durable storage device. Though when it is stated at 4gb its a bit misleading as it is is much closer to 3.6gb when in use.

I have had this drive for well over a year, using it occasionally for system backups, maybe 20 times in total. It worked nicely for what I wanted. However, the USB port has no reinforcement. It just sits naked, attached weakly to the circuit board. Any movement of the cable is directly absorbed by the solder points and board. I dont remember forcing anything but the drive is now dead. No lights, nothing. Multiple USB ports were tried, across multiple computers. I forgot about the 3-Year Limited Warranty and consequently took the drive apart. I attempted to connect the bare drive, putting a tiny bit of flexion on connector area of the board, and lights came on and a drive letter appeared in Windows. Too awkward to maintain that pressure, though... so I let go, and the drive died again. I dont really want a replacement anyway. Id be worried about the same thing happening again. If you do purchase one, my advise is to just be very very careful of the port.

I am able to use my PS4 more and don’t have to keep deleting games off. I can play older games as well. I am glad I bought it. It keeps all the titles on there and I can keep the saved items on my PS4.
