Good I guess if you have an internet cap and need to move games to and from your console. Not great with running directly off the hard drive however. Constant freezing and crashing error on most AAA games.

With the current storage setup for the PS5 at around 667GB (after OS/files you cant delete), the WD-Black is a sleek-looking and handy device to keep your PS4 games on. Although you currently cannot put PS5 games on extended storage, its nice to be able to put your PS4 catalog on the WD-Black, especially until more PS5 games are released. 10/10, would get one again.

If you are like me, you like to take advantage of the standby mode of the PS4 so you can jump back into a game later, make sure that game is on the internal hard drive. This drive doesnt like sitting in standby for days. It will cause lag and errors. Other than that, it is working as expected.

Works great so far got it for my Steam library of games. Just one thing I did notice some times system will not boot up if drive is left plugged in. Just a minor problem just Eject the drive like a USB drive and reboot,plug in and good to go.

I have had this drive for well over a year, using it occasionally for system backups, maybe 20 times in total. It worked nicely for what I wanted. However, the USB port has no reinforcement. It just sits naked, attached weakly to the circuit board. Any movement of the cable is directly absorbed by the solder points and board. I dont remember forcing anything but the drive is now dead. No lights, nothing. Multiple USB ports were tried, across multiple computers. I forgot about the 3-Year Limited Warranty and consequently took the drive apart. I attempted to connect the bare drive, putting a tiny bit of flexion on connector area of the board, and lights came on and a drive letter appeared in Windows. Too awkward to maintain that pressure, though... so I let go, and the drive died again. I dont really want a replacement anyway. Id be worried about the same thing happening again. If you do purchase one, my advise is to just be very very careful of the port.

I purchased this onsale, and for less than $100 it was well worth it for 4tb for the Xbox1, while it will work for other devices!
