Heavy duty, well made and fast. Actually using this one as digital photo storage. As a Naturalist with about 1.2TB of photos (birds, insects, mammals, reptiles, plants, etc.), this serves as a portable library as well as tertiary backup of all my photos.

I was a little confused when my Xbox didn’t “take” it at first but it was just a user error. It does the job and keeps my games in there for more storage.

I bought this Hard Drive back in 2021 and worked perfectly until middle of 2022 when it started to slow down before finally failing Yesterday. Now I cant boot up my pc when its plugged in and when it does boot up and I plug it back in, It freezes my pc and im forced to restart it with it unplugged.I really wished it lasted longer as I enjoyed the speed it offered.

High transfer speeds and high capacity, the product itself is very clean looking and I store all my games on this and launch it no problem.

I actually bought two of these 4tb units. Works great on both PlayStation 4’s. Tons of storage and faster loading times when playing a game. Plus super easy to setup.

This drive began to have problems after just a couple months of light use. It would spontaneously unmount itself, turn off, or present click of death symptoms. Unplugging it and plugging it back in would usually solve the issues, but they got more frequent over the course of a year and now its basically unusable. WD offers a 3-year warranty on this model, but the customer is responsible for return shipping and theres an additional catch: if youre in a hurry or want to try to get your data off the failing drive, youll have to choose the $25 advanced replacement option. Like a lot of companies, WD will put a hold on your credit card for the price of the replacement drive until they receive the returned unit. Thats fair, but the additional fee is excessive. Between that and insured, trackable return shipping, youll end up spending about $50 plus your time and effort to replace a drive that costs $110-125 new. In the aggregate, the reviews for this drive seem to be good, but look closer. Youll notice that the negative reviews are almost all drive failures that start within a short period of time. Based on those reviews, Id estimate 2 out of 100 drives fail within the first year. Thats a dismally high failure rate. Buyer beware.

I have not tried it for gaming yet, but when I pulled it up and used it one my computer it has proven to be the fastest drive I have. Very easy to use and I am confident it will serve me well for years to come for many different purposes.

This worked for exactly 6 months then failed.

I use for storage and Im not a gamer. I continue to have good performance and reliability with WD Black Drives. This drive also has a robust case.
