> 3 dayI was having issues finding a drive for the PS5 I could use as external USB extended storage. The WD line of Game Ready drives makes it easy to find a solution. Not every SSD or hard drive works, but the this WD Game Ready works great. I’ve moved 100’s of GB of game files with this 5 tb drive while others failed after a few seconds. Playing PS4 games directly are a little slower loading up, but work great once loaded and the load time is acceptable on the PS4 games I’ve tested.

> 3 dayCrystal Mark test shows below average performance. I was looking for a CMR drive and was happy to determine this drive being one. Crystal Disk Info reports this drive supports TRIM, so it might have some flash for use as a cache, But was VERY DISAPPOINTED that the rotational speed of only 4800RPM. I tried on a couple of computers, including my new HP ENVY, also 4800RPM. Thought I had a defective one so got a replacement from Amazon.com, but the replacement drive was also running at 4800RPM, with similar poor performance. Needless to say this was NOT an acceptable solution for me, so I returned the drive and bought a cheap SATA SSD which greatly outperformed the P10 WD - you need to do BETTER. 2.5 Stars. Added on 11/11: This item was returned following the Amazon.com instruction. Upon initiating the return to Amazon, there is a QR code presented for scanning by UPS. There is no UPS Tracking Label alongside the QR code. Amazon and UPS shows no status of the return in progress. All I see is a shipping label created status on the Amazon Returns page. Since I returned four items at the same time I have no way of determining which UPS tracking Number is associated with a given QR code. I dropped four items at the UPS store on Monday the 7th. On Friday - today I still cannot see any tracking information other than shipping label created status. I used to be able to see tracking status on UPS, but now see nothing. This is very frustrating as I cannot check the current status of my return. This all used to work fine but unfortunately now does not. I have four QRs and four actual UPS tracking numbers and I dont know which tracking number is associated with a given QR code. I contacted Amazon customer Service. Apparently they can see the current UPS tracking status but the customer cannot. I also used to be able to get text messages saying that my package was received and my order credited. I do not get that now. MAKE SURE you get a receipt at UPS when your item is scanned, so at least you have recourse in case you get a message from Amazon that the have not received your return!

> 3 dayI am using it to increase storage space with my PS5, the drive works great the only catch is only ps4 games can run from the external drive. if i had known that i would of just expanded the internal memory of the ps5. but the drive works great with no issues and seems very sturdy

> 3 dayThis formatted flawlessly to my Xbox series S and has performed perfectly. My only complaint is the light that randomly flashes. I have this located in my bedroom and it’s woken me up occasionally. I love western digital products though and it seems high quality

> 3 dayOmg, was I dissatisfied with my purchase. Then, I realized when I formatted to NTFS I left the allocation unit size at the default 4k setting. Oh, thats really wonderful if you really want to save space, not if you need speed. Im an idiot, I work in IT, and I should have been smarter. Reformatted to 64k cluster size, and while I am currently losing about 20gb of space, the speed is significantly better. I see a sustainable 80MB/s at nearly all times, peaking at 120MB/s. At 4k cluster 80MB/s was my max, 20MB/s was average, less was common. I would be lying if I said I was not tempted to set the cluster size larger. If I did this, I would likely set up a partition with 512k or 1m cluster size. The wasted space would require considerations. Regardless, I am using cache software to enhance this drives performance. I set a L1 cache of ram at 24gb for this drive, and Im using a 256gb ssd as L2 cache. My speeds do not reflect the speed gains from using this cache, as cache was not active during testing. Cache also does very little to nothing at all on first read, and only shines in successive reads.
