It works very well, decently priced, and it has very nice aesthetics ... it looks good next to the white Xbox.

This product is a necessity for your gaming needs. Let me address a few quick facts or tidbits that may be helpful from an xbox perspective 1. This will store, and play all backwards compatible games. Including xbox one x enhanced games. Everything except Series X/S titles. What this means is you can use it for 2 of the most bloated games right now in Warzone and Modern Warfare. You still get all your next gen features like 120fps mode, ray tracing, the game just doesnt load up and start as quickly as having it on the SSD but thats an easy trade off. But that leads me to my next point. 2. Quick resume DOES work for backwards compatible titles stored on a HDD so this could negate the slightly longer loads. Also, some games I didnt know a difference at all in loading it(The Evil Within 2), but a larger demanding game like Red Dead Redemption 2 went from a 2 minute cold load on the SSD to 4 minutes on the HDD. Again, that should be expected and on titles that didnt have Quick Resume I didnt notice it. This allows you to keep your SSD for only next gen titles, which space on those is precious. I loaded up 40 games on a 5 TB and multiple games were 120gigs plus, and I still have over 3 TB remaining.

Exactly efficient for game storage

If you are lured by the free month of XBOX Ultimate, do NOT BUY. For starters, this item was purchase in October and the offer on the package expired in June. To their credit, Microsoft allowed me to enter the code only to disallow it due to it being for new users. Nowhere is this listed on the site or the packaging. If you, like most, took advantage of the $1 trial period when you first started the XBOX, you are SOL. When most HDs are fairly equal, buying this simply due to the bonus free month is a massive bait and switch. Dont be fooled. Otherwise, its a basic old school, slowish hard drive for storage. Nothing special

Just received this drive and was ready to hook up to my new Xbox X for extra space for games. Also just received the Microsoft 1 TB plug in drive that is new to the X by Seagate. Have used plenty of WD drives in the past for extra storage since Microsoft is stingy with the limited 1 TB internal Drive and does not permit you to change the internal drive unlike the Sony PS 3and 4. Not sure if you can change the internal drive on the PS5. Will find out someday. This drive when plugged into the Xbox did not give me the option to format to either gaming or media and was locked to media only and would not let me make any changes. I tried connecting to an Xbox One but the same results. The next thing to try was to connect to a PC and attempt to wipe the drive and reformat. Looked up how to format a drive on a PC so it will work on the Xbox and you have to format it to Fat32 or in this case in windows 10 it was either NTSF or the other FATe. Used the quick format for FATe and this worked. When I plugged back into the Xbox X it gave me the option to format for gaming or media. The plug in Seagate drive worked perfectly. Hope this helps. I have a WD hard drive and it kept dying on me when i was downloading terabytes worth of games. This drive never crashes and has no lag when gaming. Games perform the same on the external drive as they do on the xbox one itself
