I purchased a 250GB SSD at the beginning of September 2020, and now it cant even be recognized! That is not very long at all for a SSD, especially from a reputable manufacturer such as WD. Even before it completely died, I was having a lot of issues with it. Im not sure if it was ever functioning properly as I was using it as a cache drive running in the background. After going back and analyzing the past 6 weeks, there was a bunch of erratic behavior; unfortunately I cant look any further into its history, but I have a feeling I received a straight up dud from Jump St!

The WD Blue SN550 NVMe is very easy to install. Just make sure that it is compatible with your mother board and has the same key . This Model has an M.2 2280 interface. Also make sure the motherboard has the little screw needed to hold the SSD it in place on the opossite side of the connector. Slide the SN550 it in in a little slanted position in the motherboards M.2 Socket 3 until it clicks in palce; thne hold it down while you screw gently in place in the opposite side. I used it to install Windows 10 on it (latest version of windows have the device driver for use during installation, or you can download the latest version of Intel Rapid Storage drivers and have it on a thum drive so you can use it during the Windows installation process (when it presents you with the available recognized drives in your PC). You need to download the WD SSD DAshboard Software after you finish installing windows and make sure all your drivers (Device Administration) are up to date. Youl need it to monitor the disk health, performance and tweakings like Trim, as well as to get notifications of the SN550 firmware.

Compré hace un mes o 2 este M.2 y estoy realmente satisfecho, los programas abren rapidísimo y transferir datos es un gran cambio a un SSD sata.

I purchased 2 of these 1TB modules for a new build. They installed easily into the motherboard slots and have had no issues so far. Boot time for the system is much faster than my previous system. Although the Gen4 NVMe cards are much faster, their prices are are more than equally higher...for my home gaming system, the extra speed would not make a noticeable difference so these modules will work fine for me.

Im using this SSD as a Time Machine drive, and is so far improving my working speed
