Whiteside Router Bits 3001 Template Bit with Ball Bearing

I used this Whiteside Bit for mortising hinges on a cabinet I am building, using a guide template. The bit cuts very smooth mortise bottoms. The cut actually looks polished. Also the bit is exactly the same size as the guide bearing, which means there is little chisel work cleanup. just the corners. I like the accuracy.

I used this bit with a plunge router to inset two hinges using a template I created. The bit is very precise and sharp. I was cutting composite decking, which is relatively easy to cut, but the bit cut right through it. I will be buying more Whiteside bits.

Solid bit, cuts well. Great value for the money.

This bit cuts very cleanly. Only needed light edge sanding after making the cut.

For the money, this is by far one of the best values for this type of router bit. Highly recommend it if you need this type of bit. Very sharp and has stayed sharp. You can tell when you look at it in person, it is a high quality bit, not like many of the cheaply manufactured bits you can get online.

I needed a router bit that would match up with my template for a shallow beginning before I could use the bowl routing bits. The distance on the bowl bits was too great between the baring and the top of the cutter head, this bit was perfect for routing that gap.

Whiteside bits are great! I own several and have never been let down.
