Willow Tree Hero, Sculpted Hand-Painted Figure

Willow Tree figurines do a great job of capturing specific sentiments, and this is no exception. I got this one for my mother - her father was a Korean War veteran and when he passed away his flag was given to her stepmother, who then gave it to one of her brothers. I got her this as a memento and a way to remember Grandpa even though my uncle has the actual flag. She cried when I gave it to her. It truly is a sentimental, beautiful piece.

I actually received this as a gift from a dear friend after my Dad passed away. He was a USAF veteran, so the flag in this figurine was extra special. I have it placed next to a framed picture of my dad in his Air Force uniform. I really treasure this. My sister recently saw it while visiting on vacation and thought it was beautiful. She said, “If you need an idea of something to get me for my next birthday, I would love one of these”. I ordered it for her and can’t wait to give it to her later this month for her birthday.

I love the Hero figurine. I bought it in honor of my husband who is a Vietnam veteran and in memory of my father and father-in-law who are World War II veterans.

Put it beside the picture of my son, who died while serving his country. I find it comforting.

Beautifully simple and meaningful for anyone who has served our country or for a family member who has lost a loved one. We have one on display in our home to honor our fathers (WWII vets) and it always seems to get noticed even though not prominently displayed.
