The YOC bolt size and thread gauge is perfect for someone like me who is terrible and guessing the correct size of a bolt or thread. I often take a sample piece to HD and use their in-store guides to establish the correct size. This allows me to figure out the correct size in the workshop and know what is needed for a job. Very sturdy built set of all the most common sizes. I removed one star not for the quality of the product, but I did feel the set is a little overpriced for what you are getting.

This is one of those things that you never get around to buying because its just now quite worth it to spend the money, that is just so handy to have. So hopefully youre looking for somebody to hand one of these this down to you, or you end up being a big box store trying to figure out the replacement bolt size you need from the beat up templates that they have somewhere in the nuts and bolts isle. Then you find all those numskull before you tried to force the wrong nut on wrong thread and everything is stripped. So just buy one, and you can send you kid to your workbench to get you the right replacement nut that you dropped through the floorboard... provided you also bought one of those handy nut and bolt collections as well. But seriously it also helps you figure out if its metric or english/SAE threads.

These will pay for themselves the first time you dont have to make a second trip to the hardware store for the right bolt. These are so much easier to use than thread pitch gauges. The threads are clean and sizes are accurate. Easy to check both nuts and bolts with the same tool. If you ever have to go to the hardware store for nuts or bolts, you need this in your tool box.

For those of us who struggles to find the right screw or nut size, this thread checker is what you need. It comes both standard and metric sizes.

These things are just awesome. I’ve got jars and bins full of hardware and it just takes forever to sort them without a tool like this. These come in the most common sizes with a metric set and an SAE set. They are organized on a wire and would work just fine like that but I wanted them mounted in a way similar to the sizers in the blue big box store. Using a 2” wide aluminum strap, I drilled and tapped each size hole and just screwed each one into its own hole. One side has the bolt sizer and flipping it over, the nut sizer. I used a label maker and printed out the sizes so they are easier to see and I’m stoked to have this thing. If you’ve looked up the price of what’s in the store, it’s quite expensive. I have one almost identical now that cost around 1/4. Anyone that owns a toolbox should have one of these.
