> 3 dayOur son is 3yrs old and has Autism. We don’t give this every night to our son, but sometimes we give him one pill on days that he wasn’t as active, or on those restless nights that he can’t fall asleep. It used to take him about one hour of kicking, mumbling, getting out of bed, rolling on bed etc. to fall asleep. At first we tried not to give him any sleep aid, however our doctor said it was OK to give him Melatonin if he can’t fall asleep in less than half and hour and has trouble deep sleeping. It’s best if you give the child the pill at the start of the bedtime rutine, this way the effects has time to work it’s way through their system and they can fall right to sleep once they are in bed. It takes my son about 30mins to fall asleep and he is 40lbs. This pill has been a life saver. Our son used to get up in the middle of the night, sometimes at 2am, 3 am or 4am and won’t fall back to sleep or would fall back asleep in two hours. Later in the day he wouldn’t be able to concentrate or go to preschool because he was too tired to wake up from being up all night.

> 3 dayWe have liked this melatonin for years. Its great to help with time changes and schedule changes. However they changed the formula. Some of the kids like it better but some hate it and wont have anything to do with it now. So now I have to find something else.

> 3 dayOur pre-teen has been sleep walking almost nightly for the past 5 months and a friend recommended we try a 1mg dose of melatonin. I came across the Zarbees brand melatonin (were familiar with the brand because of their honey and elderberry syrup) and purchased it with the hope of solving the sleep walking problem. Im happy to report that after a week of use, it seems to have helped significantly. Our pre-teen still sleeps very actively but isnt getting up and walking around the house in his sleep. Overnight camp is coming right up and Im happy knowing that hell be sleeping there at night without the potential hazards of sleepwalking to put a damper on his experience. One thing to note is that the grape flavored chewables have a pretty bold flavor. I havent tried one but our pre-teen said that theyre pretty potent. I dont know if this means that theyre sour or just super flavored, but its not a major detractor so I still give it 5 stars.

Greater than one weekWe all know why are you here. You want to know will this pill put my minion to sleep but not so much to sleep that I feel like Im drugging them? I have an answer: it depends. I have two kids. If I give a single pill to my 5 year old he is out in 20 minutes- like falls asleep sitting up. My daughter, on the other hand, zero effect. It anything it ramps her up. No idea why they very so much. I take 2 on occasion and it works for me. I dont wake up groggy and but still get a good sleep. The dissolve really well and could be confused with candy so keep them up high!

> 3 dayI am just going to put my mom hat on and suggest you research how our bodies create melatonin and how it works! Do not give it every night or the body will stop producing it on its own! That being said I do give this to my kiddos on occasion. For example, on a night when they are excited or stressed about the following day, when we are traveling and staying in a new place for the first time, or when they havent had a chance to do much physical activity and they just arent tired at bedtime. Personally we give melatonin once a month or so. I would suggest giving 1mg tablet to your child at first, even if the dose is for 2 tablets. We have 1 kiddo who is strongly affected by them and only needs 1 to feel the effects.

> 3 dayWe have used these to help my son, now 9, fall asleep for the last few years. One or 2 maybe 30 mins before bed. The difference is black and white. We read to him every night and when he takes them its about 20 mins of the story and he is out. When we forget its 45 mins before we have realized we forgot. They are not strong or habit forming and make just enough of a difference!
