Zoombinis 3 Game Pack - Island Odyssey, Logical Journey, Mountain Rescue

I started playing the first version of Logical Journey of the Zoombinis (written for Windows 98 or 2000) when I was eight or so and loved it. Ten years later, I still think these games are excellent. These are the new version of Zoombinis (made by the Learning Company - the earlier version was from Broderbund) and so should run problem-free on modern computers. My Broderbund originals dont work well on the computer I own now (they cause crashes on Me or XP computers), so Im ordering this for me and as a present for my sisters ninth birthday.

These three games are an amazing set, all educational, all fun.

Flashback to the early 2000s. These games bring back MAJOR nostalgia. Bought them as a gag gift for my best friend of our friendiversary. We both love it. Its great for young kids, (5 or 6) as easy learning games.

I bought these games because I loved them as a child and thought they were great, but when I got them surprise, surprise they wont work on my computer. Apparently there used to be software on macs called Rosetta that allowed games like these (powerpc games) to run. However starting with Lion that software is no longer available and CANNOT be installed or utilized in any way on your computer! I just wasted 25$ and am very disappointed :(

My sons wanted these so bad as they played them in school many times. We ordered and they were so excited. Had lots of difficulty downloading when we finally figured that out the program kept freezing and he was getting more annoyed trying to play then having fun. So they have been sitting for 2 weeks now and he hasnt touched them.

I bought this for my daughter since she play this game at her school and she loves it. This version is from 10 years ago, made for win98. However, it seems to work fine on her Compaq win XP laptop. She loves it. I will probably need to find the latest version and buy it for her. Games have really changed in the past 10 years.

I would like to return this item. When I insert the CD, it starts to work, I play the first part of the game, then the screen turns black and I cant continue. I am very disappointed, since it is a fun game that I wanted for my grandchildren. Can you give me an address so I can reutnrn it?

out of the 3 games in the pack Island Odyssey, Logical Journey, Mountain Rescue, there was only one that i enjoy.

My 10-year-old son learned about Zoombinis at school. He came home raving about them and was delighted to find 3 different versions on Amazon. He even spent his own money to buy the 3-pack, and has spent hours playing with them this summer. I havent really looked at them myself, but my guess is if the teachers use them at his school for kids with learning disabilities, then they must be educational as well as just plain fun. P.S. he also LOVES Crazy Machines, also available from Amazon, in case youre looking for more educational games.

When I read Khayankhs review, I thought it may be my granddaughter! They are about the same age; and must have played the game about the same time.
