The magnets are so strong that I need two hands. Also, my finger doesn’t fit in the gap, to easily pull it up. But most importantly, it protects the I-pad well. I also used it at the fridge a few time, which is very convenient for cooking and baking. The pencil holder is an added benefit I enjoy
