They are not used to hold the cover up and they do not stay in place.

This is a beautiful product highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a magnetic case to be mounted on any metallic surface.

Perfect except its heavy.

I love this case for my iPad Mini so bought it for my IPad Pro 11 inch... and no matter what I do, the case does not work to hold the ipad upright as it is supposed to do.
