Proprietary Hardware. Will not work with any other companys products. Doesnt work with Intel. Intel, Gigabit & Cisco are lock-out companies. This fiber optic technology isnt mainstream enough yet to interchange products. Dont make the same mistake I made. Do your research.

It does what it promises. I got about 930 Mbps through it, which is what I get over plain 1000BASE-T. Im a big fan of the metal case. However, the price isnt the best. You can get one without an SFP transceiver and just buy your own transceiver off eBay. Cheap ones are plenty fast enough, and I found a 4Gbit one for less than $2 including shipping. The TP-Link alternative is about the same, metal case and all, but cheaper if you add your own transceiver.

I live in the lightning capital - Florida. So I use these to fiber isolate parts of my network from electrical surges. (lost previous network to lightning strike that traveled over my Ethernet network). These work great, are easy to setup, and reliable.

I ordered 4 of these devices as I needed 2 fiber runs joining in the middle with a switch. I was trying to address a bandwidth issue with my existing powerline adapters trying to play Blueray movies from my NAS. All my issues were resolved, and from the furthest point, I am getting less than 0.5ms response to the router. Very much plug and play, highly recommended!

Worked fine at end of 80ft OM3 MMF aqua LC LC run. Inexpensive option for connecting a fiber run to a device that does not have its own SFP port.
