Im a young new homeowner and have lost about 3k on plumbers coming out to clean our kitchen sink over 5 years. Finally had an honest plumber tell us straight-up that garbage disposals dont do anything but build bad habits and slowly create an accumulation of sludge in the pipes. We really shouldnt be dumping much of anything down the drain. Got these traps and havent had an issue since... a $6 purchase has saved us thousands on plumbing bills and this thing is great with the handle and all.

My mom absolutely loves this strainer. I gave it to her as a Christmas present since she likes useful things and my family keeps commenting on it. She loves not having to touch the food bits and the sink drains so much faster now and never backs up. The only drawback is since it sits on top of the drain itself (not down in) a few food bits wont flow into the basket but get caught at the rim. Its not a problem for us.
