If you have garbage disposal in your kitchen sink, you need a strainer like this. In fact, you need two. It keeps things from falling into the disposal that shouldnt go into it, and thus keeps the user from having to reach into the disposal to get those things out. These strainers are stainless steel, so they do well in the dishwasher. Thats good, because, if cheese gets into the mesh, its hard to get it out without putting it into the dishwasher. Having two means that you never have to leave that gaping hole open in your sink.

So much better than the last one we had. This doesn’t catch a lot of stuff at the rim, easy to remove and stuff comes right off when emptying.

These are perfect. I bought a set of 4 for a couple dollars less but they have sharp edges.

What I really love about these covers is that they have a little more weight to them compared to others Ive used. My dishwasher backs up into my kitchen sink when it drains and so my previous cheap ones Id get at the dollar store would float off the drain and thats a problem because I need the drain cover to remain in place to keep roaches from coming up out the sink. These stay in place and because of the wide rim it creates a nice barrier to keep roaches out. Havent seen any since having these so I would recommend these alongside whatever pest control is done (I also recommend using wall outlet covers for any outlets you arent using, also helps to keep roaches out).

I’ve had strainers before that weren’t durable. These are quite sturdy and do the job.
