If you are buying any other electrical tape you are not buying the best

I use this tape to cover little lights that would keep me up at night. Like the on light on my power cord, the chromecast, etc. Works great.

Ive had other electrical tapes where the adhesive migrates to the top of the tape when the roll gets warmed up. The other rolls became a sticky mess. This tape does not seem to do that. The tape itself is relatively thick, so its not too hard to get the end off the roll and I feel like it will do a better job, long term, of avoiding shorts in electrical circuits, than thinner tapes.

At the time I bought this violet electrical tape it was $4.35. Its great quality, but the color is a bit off putting if youre putting it in plain sight, but I knew it would be for inside outlets or walls, so it didnt matter what the color was to me since I wouldnt be able to see it anyways. I swapped out the outlets on my house and used this electrical tape for it. The electrical tape has held up well and it was less than $5.00 for the role. If you dont mind that its violet then its a great product to buy. The electrical tape adheres well to surfaces and it is definitely 3M quality. I use 3M sandpaper and this electrical tape and every time I use 3M products theyre excellent in terms of quality and perform well.

It works as it supposed to, but Im not sure why it leaves a black residue and slides down the wire I put it on. Does anyone have any tips on keeping it from sliding off? My put it on my phone charging wire cause it had a crack but the tape keeps moving down

Scotch Electrical Tape, 3/4-in by 66-ft, Black I purchased two rolls of tape. The rolls I received were clearly defective. They had a carboard backing covered with a harder transparent formed plastic. I opened one package. The plastic covering fell off. It no longer adhered to the cardboard backing due to age and/or environ. The other product appeared to be in the same condition. The sides of the roll of tape were covered with a thin clear material. Removing this material was difficult, as the roll of tape seemed to be partially melted to it. I was able to get it off, but was covered with what once was adhesive material, now black in color and gooey. This material got all over my hands and was challenging to wash off. I cut off a piece of the tape itself. It was no longer adhesive. The item I attempted to stick the tape to was then, not surprisingly, covered with the black jelly-like goo. The goo had mostly lost its stick-to-it-iveness, but, anthropomorphized, sure seemed to enjoy gliding around covering more surface area. It was, as some say, a royal pain in the (cough) to remove (at least visibly - its most likely still lurking). Not a great experience. These rolls of tape are very old and/or were exposed to extreme temperature and/or other factors resulting in their no longer being effective. The condition was easily noticeable and the lot should be disposed of - certainly not sold. Buying these rolls wasted my time, negatively impacted something I own, may be the source of another The Blob remake, and may have altered my genetic code. Only time will tell. As per the many other reviews citing the same mysterious black gooey residue issues, possibly of alien origin, that Ive reported, this isnt a one-off problem. Why is Amazon continuing to sell this? What are the 5-star reviews on about? What is the goo? Inquisitive minds want to know.

It’s electric tape. It works. A whole lot cheaper locally, but I was just being lazy.

Keeps everything together nicely! Don’t need to replace it often like I did with other tapes.

    Gets the job done.

Sometimes its worth it to spend the extra money, especially for quality work.
