> 3 dayOnly went 4 grits in and then accidentally cut off a little translucent layer of skin with the chisel. That was good enough for me to stop there lol. Also careful doing sharpening by hand. If you use your finger to feel for the bevel and it touches this stuff youll burnish you skin before you know it!

> 3 dayI purchased these to use with my Worksharp knife sharpening system. I cut them to fit the stone and then just put them on. I get a razor sharp edge and a mirror polish. Very happy with this lapping film.

> 3 dayI bought these sheets after watching a YouTube video of someone cutting them to size and sticking them to the ceramic hone on a Worksharp Precision adjust knife sharpener. I cut them into sight oversized strips and they adhere perfectly to the ceramic. Knives come out shaving sharp with a mirror finish. You can get multiple uses out of the strips if you stick them to a piece of wax paper to prevent the adhesive from drying out. I can sharpen about 4 pocket knives 3-4” blades using the strips before it’s time to change strips. I got about 14 strips out of each sheet of lapping film. If you do bigger knives they obviously will wear out more quickly. Pull the paper with the cutting edge towards the apex, don’t push the paper into the cutting edge or you will slice it. I also buff side to side and it doesn’t cut the paper, and finish with 10 strops along the knife blade from hilt to tip on each side and finish with 50 strips each side on the 60,000 grit white film. This stuff is awesome and I will be purchasing more when I need to.

> 3 dayI got this along with a piece of glass because I’ve been trying to hone my straight razors. I have a slew of shapton stones, norton, naniwa, chromium oxide to apply to my strops, and I’ve never been able to get a razor to the point I liked it. That was until I tried this stuff. I kept the backing on and just put it on top of a wet piece of paper on top of the glass and it was amazing. The edge that I got was extremely clean, even when looking at it under magnification. I’m not saying that these are better than stones, but they are much cheaper of an initial investment and for someone new can give you a very good result. I was ready to give up on honing myself but this has rejuvenated my enthusiasm. I’m excited to learn more and continue in this adventure now.
