> 3 dayI collect and (try to) restore old vintage Western of Boulder Colorado knives which have carbon steel blades that tarnish, patina and pit if not properly cared for. I use these to - by hand - polish out the imperfections and bring the blades back to a luster. Not always a mirror perfect finish based on the starting point condition, but these do a pretty good job. Its hard work but keeps me sitting at my bench for hours and off eBay for a while! I dont stick these to glass or adhere them to anything. I cut small patches and use my fingers to polish with.

> 3 daySo far so good with these, Ive used them to polish/hone some straight razors to try this method out. I prefer an actual stone though after trying this but then again this isnt what these sheets were designed for so they get 5-stars from me for their quality.

> 3 dayIm used to using files and wet stones. Decided to try this for my wood chisels. They are scary sharp. Easily shaves hair off my arm an slices through wood with little effort, which gives greater control. Wish I would have switch to this when i first heard of it.

> 3 dayThis is the second set I bought. I affixed them to a granite floor tile I bought at the local big box home improvement store. When purchasing this item, you are riding from Taylor Toolworks. They are a GREAT company to order from. I usually order directly from them but I used an Amazon gift card for this order.

> 3 dayI got this along with a piece of glass because I’ve been trying to hone my straight razors. I have a slew of shapton stones, norton, naniwa, chromium oxide to apply to my strops, and I’ve never been able to get a razor to the point I liked it. That was until I tried this stuff. I kept the backing on and just put it on top of a wet piece of paper on top of the glass and it was amazing. The edge that I got was extremely clean, even when looking at it under magnification. I’m not saying that these are better than stones, but they are much cheaper of an initial investment and for someone new can give you a very good result. I was ready to give up on honing myself but this has rejuvenated my enthusiasm. I’m excited to learn more and continue in this adventure now.

> 3 dayI was skeptical at first, but this stuff is a lot easier to use than regular wet sandpaper. It comes with a huge assortment of grits, really more than is needed. Id rather just have 2 sheets each and half the assortment. Its tough to tell the grits apart, so keep track of the colors and mark each one. It comes with some printed info too (see pic). Originally mine showed up with this bit of odd staining but they quickly sorted it out.
